@swordharrington I have actually very much been thinking along the same lines, but you're the first I've heard say it explicitly. These women may still deserve love and kids, but it seems a checkered past makes them lose their ability to lay full claim to a man's exclusive commitment.

The reason this guy didn't pick up on the fact that his friend's wife was a whore was because she genuinely may have repented and changed. She may have actually become a good, Christian girl. That's why the husband himself had a happy marriage and didn't suspect anything either until he was shown the proof. Which leads us to probably the most pernicious problem facing Christian men today: does a woman's past really matter if she has chosen a different future? And can you truly extend grace to her as you are called to do? I am not posing this question to encourage men to "step up" or settle for a used up woman. The girl in this video's former acts were beyond any man's reasonable limit. But there are interesting general considerations here as to whether Christian men actually want a good wife or whether they want a pure woman, and how much these devout guys can actually practice the forgiveness they preach - especially when doing so triggers their shame and humiliation. The reality is that most women have gone through at least a period of promiscuity because they have been born into a degenerate culture and lack the "competence" barriers to sexual behavior men require. Some of them left that culture because they realized it degraded them, and they have grown from it and healed - but they still have the history and the notches. If in all other ways she's the girl of your dreams, and she only wants to be an amazing wife, can you let it go?

They don’t get to blame feminism for being selfish losers. Godly manhood assumes responsibility. Real patriarchs LEAD, they don’t blame. Also yes, feminists should be ashamed of themselves too. Their worldview is deeply inconsistent, demanding special treatment from men without giving special honor to men. Feminism must be eradicated. But it must be eradicated by Christ-like men who assume authority AND responsibility, not by selfish man-children. “Hey, you are supposed to follow us, so once you follow us then we will stop being completely self-absorbed.” What an enticing invitation. Also that is the exact opposite of “following,” but ok. Good kings don’t whine at their unruly subjects. They pick up the crown and wear it well.

@swordharrington As a legally married man in an awesome marriage, I still say men should only get spiritually married, as it heads off many negative dynamics happening in many legal marriages that would otherwise be great if it weren’t for state involvement. -R

How do we measure this? I’m asking because I know many men who would argue that simply being legally married places you in the category of submitting to a woman by default, given the power the state has placed in her hands to end the marriage without her husband’s consent and rock his world if she wants to. I think the closest objective measure is to hear from wives themselves that they unconditionally submit to their husbands no matter how he might behave.
