I’ve spent all July at AAU tournaments and I think a lot of kids have the game confused. Basketball IQ Is definitely at an all time low. The best player on the floor will make everyone else around them better. It’s not about dropping 30 points or highlight tapes. If you’re talented, that stuff will take care of itself. High school recruitment is at an all time low right now so it’s more important than ever to know how to play the game the right way. Drive and kicks, advancing the ball, extra passes, communication, reading screen coverages, etc… For the kids: Ignore outside voices and trust your coaches who are preaching to you to play the right way.

Your WANT and your WHY has to be so attractive & desirable to u that ain't NOTHING can stop u from Believing & Achieving it. I don't care what they do or say if u can still close your eyes & see it u can go get it. Let's get it! NOW. #CoachPrime

Long Beach State fired Dan Monson on Monday. Monson still decided to coach the 49ers and just led them to the NCAA tourney with a Big West title run. Insane!!!!

It took St. John's 24 years to get back to the Big East semifinals. It took Rick Pitino one year on the job to do it. UConn vs. SJU on Friday night. The building might rattle the bedrock of Manhattan.

The argument for classes in baseball, and splitting the KHSAA state over separate weekends, was small schools were hamstrung by pitching. Cool. 3 games in 20 hours over 2 days. Not sure that's helping

@NateInSports @brodmo @josh_claywell Yep I’d say there’s a few others. It’s really not fair for the true small schools. People say all a but it’s really half the teams in the state or more

@swords_eric @brodmo @josh_claywell Bigger than Jackson (325) in boys, smaller than Breathitt (363) in boys. All three 3A for football.

@NateInSports @brodmo @josh_claywell Meant most 2A, just saying there’s 3A schools that play as well. Just in the 11th-13th. Middlesboro, Jackson, LCA, Somerset, Danville. That was 5 out of 15…they have added some small new schools recently in 11/12

@swords_eric @brodmo @josh_claywell There can't be too many schools that are 1A in track and CC that are 3A for football. I'm sure there are some, but it's not "mostly" either
