@GovKathyHochul Such a shame what is happening to once a great state. I'll tell my kids it was once cool to live in ny.

@jbulltard1 Earnings week “Holy shit, they are spending so much, lets sell hyperscalers and buy chip suppliers” 2 months later “Wtf, the market cap of these chip companies are insane. Lets rotate back into hyperscalers.” We are going to be doing this dance for awhile

@jukan05 On 7/6(when the report would have been written), Samsung and Hynix were roughly 30% higher.

@jukan05 This report was supposedly out on 7/6? (If true, this means all the smart institutions knew of it and the mkt has digested it) Idk if this is why Kopsi is down today. We can all thank him when Kospi is up 50% eoy from here

@amitisinvesting SMCI has been such a concensus short for fund managers. Face-ripping rally wouldn't surprise me as shorts run to cover. +40% tmrw is in the range imo

$SMCI Woah. SMCI guided for 8.4-8.7% gross margins last quarter. They have a TTM gross margin of 8.83%. They just came out after hours and said they are increasing their guide for gross margins to now 15-17%. Even during 2024-2025, their gross margins went from 11-13%. How does a commodity server rack provider double their margins in the past 90 days? If anything, it feels like the company is either rolling out new products with better margins in the AI space or gaining more leverage with their customers to command better margins. If a low margin business like $SMCI can gain leverage, then other AI names can as well, which is part of the reason that competitors like $DELL and $HPE are up after hours. Pretty incredible move from SMCI and could be a big moment for many AI names that are able to increase margins. $SMCI +15%

@shitcoin_maxxi @aleabitoreddit SKHY get over-shorted into 29th because people are too optimistic about either getting the conversion or the premium decreasing. Then in practice, handful of funds get all the conversions and most folks are left with short SKHY shares with extremely elevated borrow rate

@DmitriBraverman @jbulltard1 Yea IV is high especially to the downside in this environment that 80 put premium is worth a lot (which is essentially what you are shorting)

The behavior of the 60/80 call spread is a bit surprising. With INTC around $97, both legs are deep ITM, yet the spread is only worth about $13 instead of something much closer to its $20 maximum value. Is the high IV on the short $80 call really enough to account for that much of the difference, or am I missing something?

@LIWEI_TWCapital Bears are in a celebration mode. Pretty funny because most of them have been bearish at half the current stock price even after 30-40% drop.

I think people on X have become far too bearish on memory. The industry’s fundamentals and stock prices are two different things. Even if we’re in a memory bubble, is it really large enough to justify wiping out 40% of these companies’ market caps in less than a month, with virtually no resistance? The demand side still has plenty of levers that can be pulled. Liquidity issues can also be addressed through policy measures. None of those tools have even been meaningfully deployed yet, yet the market is already pricing in the worst-case scenario. Memory stocks will eventually converge back toward their long-term equilibrium, but that’s a gradual process—not something that happens overnight. A 40% decline in less than a month looks more like an emotional overshoot than a rational repricing. $SKHY $DRAM $MU $SNDK

For anyone watching the 25%+ premium in $SKHY versus SK Hynix's Korean shares: The ADRs and local shares become convertible on July 29. Should open the door for arbitrage and likely compress the ADR premium. Maybe lifting Korean shares or pressuring US shares. 2.5% currently is the US ADR stock, so an additional 22.5% can be converted.

@syl_52 I'm not posting anything actionable here. Just giving people a heads up on about ADR timeline conversion for SK Hynix on the 29th. And that it's likely premiums might converge if institutions decide to arbitrage.

@kangminlee Why does this have to an Asian Hate crime. Was there any evidence that this racially motivated? Or do you just call it a Asian hate crime whenever the victim is Asian

This is concerning. For the first time, a Chinese model Kimi K3 has taken #1 on the Frontend Code Arena and is scoring at or near the frontier on other benchmarks. Meanwhile America is tying itself in knots: politicians and bureaucrats are banning new data centers, piling on state regulations, and pushing for new federal agencies to pre-approve frontier models. This is how you lose the AI race. The rest of the world won’t play by our rules if we bog ourselves down. Permissionless innovation is how America won the internet and became the technological envy of the world. We can do it again with AI -- while addressing risks in a targeted way -- or we’ll watch our lead evaporate.
Arena.ai@arena

Big news: Kimi-K3 by @Kimi_Moonshot is now #1 in the Frontend Code Arena with 1679 pts, surpassing Claude Fable 5. This is a 17-place jump from Kimi-k2.6 (#18 -> #1). In Frontend, Kimi-K3 ranked #1 in 6 of 7 domains: Brand & Marketing, Reference-Based Design, Data & Analytics, Consumer Product, Simulations, and Content Creation Tools, landing #2 only in Gaming behind Fable 5. The full model weights will be released by July 27. Congrats to the @Kimi_Moonshot team on this major milestone!

$SKHY 4.87x. You gotta be kidding me. Even lower than $MU at 5.56x. At these levels, they can buy back the entire company in just ~4 years. Shortage until 2030. Pure madness.

Kim Sunwoo of Meritz Securities: "This Is Not the Time to Sell Samsung Electronics and $SKHY" They claim markets are excessively misunderstanding the situation with semis. And that DRAM shortage will intensify in the second half of this year. - H2 2026: "suppliers can fulfill only 75%–80% of DRAM demand". - 2027: "fulfillment is expected to fall into the 60% range." In the article, they attached market forecasts that show SK Hynix with a 2027 3.5x P/E and Samsung a 3.9x P/E. Think the $INTC CEO said it best around timeframes with his quote "no relief in memory supply or pricing until at least 2028". Especially after $MU 16 LTAs with favorable take or pay volume contracts... memory demand seems structural.
