@PegBundyMyHero Yeah timely comment. I was in a skating club meeting and was trying to walk the razor’s edge between getting a point across and hurting feelings and pissing board members off.

Early Western Settlers in Canada were required build a home, and break at least 30 acres of land (create farmland) each year for 3 years, or they did not get ownership of the land No one was given the land for "free" they had to pay for it and contribute to retain ownership

It’s funny how quickly a person gets used to something. I’d forgotten just how small our premature houseguest was until my better half brought me a cold newborn in out of the storm #ranchlife

@Harry__Faulkner When he was recently in Texas, he said he hoped the Liberals would win the bi-elections and gain a majority govt.

Doug Ford is asked if he welcomes a Liberal majority government as a progressive conservative premier: Q: Is that really what you want as a progressive conservative premier? A: I don't look at political stripes, and I don't give two hoots...It so happened to be Mark Carney, and we're working extremely, extremely well.

@unfilteredwkels She had to hurry and cross so she could still get fed at the Liberal trough before the bi-elections are held.

@BertaMemes Get into the deep SE and it’s quiet and very few people. Its no windier than any other part of the prairie. You won’t see semis blown over like in Pincher or Lethbridge. Draw a line south from Manyberries to the US border and East to Sask and in that area there might be 10-15 pop

Mark Carney just announced $3.8 Billion for a new Nature Strategy to hit the UN’s 30x30 goal. I spent the morning digging through the 2030 framework and the legal fine print, and the math has me a bit worried. I know the common pushback is that the Crown owns 89% of Canada, so why worry? But here is the "quality vs. quantity" problem the feds' own strategy admits: 📍 The federal government only directly manages 6% of our landmass. 📍 Most Crown land is in the remote North, but the critical biodiversity the UN mandates we protect is almost entirely in the South. 📍 In the South, 12% of the land is private and that’s exactly where the endangered species are. To hit a 30% target with only 6% of the supply, the math is clear: they have to move onto the rest. The way I’m reading the Nature Accountability Act and recent court cases like St. John’s v. Lynch, it looks like the state is finding ways to control land use through "conservation zoning" without ever needing the deed. Is this a "partnership" for well-being, or a new kind of "De Facto" land grab? *I’m not claiming to have all the answers, but I’ve pulled the court receipts and the strategy links so you can decide for yourself. A new poll says 75 per cent of Canadians would like to see a full ban on social media for children under 16. Australia has moved in this direction.  Canada should be considering options to limit social media use by minors. In the coming weeks, our government will be asking Saskatchewan people for their views on this matter.

Avi Lewis on not immediately seeking a seat in the HOC: "The caucus was unanimous that they don't see a need for me to be in Parliament immediately and that's something that I had already determined. So our plan from day one is to fan out and meet Canadians where they live."

@FoodProfessor Anything involving the govt and the UN is unsettling. Looking forward to mandates and regulations that restrict what landowners are able to do with/on their land.

Ottawa announced today that Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is working on a national soil health strategy. Good. Healthy soil plays a key role in crop yields, farm resilience, and long-term food system stability—making this an important foundational initiative.
