“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” – Exodus 20:7 Most people think this commandment is just about not saying “OMG” or using God’s name as a curse. But it’s so much deeper than that. Yes — using God’s name carelessly, as a joke, or as slang empties His name of the honor it deserves. His name is holy, not a reaction word. But taking His name in vain also means carrying His name without truth behind it. In the Bible, a name represents character and authority. So when we attach God’s name to our lives, our words, or our identity — it’s supposed to mean something. Right now, it’s common to see people say, “Christ is King.” And He is King. Absolutely. 👑 But many say it without actually knowing Jesus. Saying “Christ is King” isn’t just a powerful phrase — it’s a declaration of surrender. It means: He rules my heart. He leads my choices. I follow His Word. I seek a real relationship with Him. If I use God’s name casually in speech, or I claim Jesus publicly but live like He has no authority in my life, I’m still carrying His name in vain. Because His name isn’t a slogan. It isn’t a trend. It isn’t cultural Christianity. It’s holy. Jesus didn’t call us to just say His name He called us to follow Him. Not perfection — but real relationship. Not religion — but repentance. Not performance — but transformation. Let’s honor His name not only with our mouths… but with lives that actually reflect Him. Because when Christ is truly King… it shows.

I do my best to stay out of politics on this app because nothing good ever comes from it. But after what happened today, I felt like I needed to share how I’m feeling, especially as someone who’s conservative. After seeing several angles of what happened earlier today, these are my final thoughts. It was completely unacceptable. A man who had every legal right to carry and every legal right to protest was disarmed, held down, and then still shot multiple times. That goes against everything conservatives believe about limited government and the proper use of state power. I do not understand why that principle suddenly disappears for some Republicans defending this. It has not disappeared for me as a conservative. You do not lose your rights because you are carrying, and you do not lose your rights because you are protesting. Those rights are supposed to coexist in America. Once someone is disarmed and on the ground, the justification for lethal force is almost nonexistent, and EVERYONE knows it. You can support strong immigration enforcement and still say this was wrong, because believing in law and order also means believing the government must be held to the highest standard when it uses force. This is not about politics. It is about the rule of law, personal liberty, and the expectation that the state exercises its power with restraint. And honestly, I do not know where the hell humanity has gone in this country. There is so much hate and so much division. I am truly praying for better days. A citizen of this country lost his life for absolutely nothing.

as a software engineer, i feel a real loss of identity right now. for a long time i defined myself in part by the act of writing code. the pride in a hard-earned solution was part of who i was. now i watch AI accomplish in seconds what took me hours. i find myself caught between relief and mourning, awe and anxiety. the craft that shaped me is suddenly eclipsed by a machine. who am i now?

@domdyer70 This is genuinely awesome - I love dogs. But at the same time I can't help but think it's ironic when they were one of the first countries to promote euthanizing humans.

The Netherlands has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first country in the world to completely eliminate stray dogs without euthanasia. The government implemented strict animal welfare laws, mandatory pet registration, heavy fines for abandonment, and nationwide sterilisation drives. Shelters worked closely with rescue teams to ensure every stray dog was rehabilitated and placed in a loving home. Public awareness campaigns encouraged adoption over buying, helping transform the country’s approach to animal care. This compassionate, coordinated effort resulted in every dog finding a safe, permanent home — setting a global benchmark for humane animal welfare.

I reported the Local File Disclosure vulnerability to the creator of the Live Server extension 5 years ago. He said he would patch it, but now, five years later, I see that the issue still exists and the extension has been downloaded over 65 million times. For your security, do not use this extension and warn others who do. joyous-grape-freeze.glitch.me/delete-live-se… @code

Everyone knows uv makes it easy to handle Python dependencies. But did you know that if you have dependencies as a header, you can then `uv run script.py` and uv will handle all the dependencies without you needing to create a venv Great for standalone scripts.
