Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. NWAC supports #16DaysofActivism (Nov 25 - Dec 10) with the theme: “Every 10 Minutes, a woman is killed. #NoExcuse.” Let’s amplify the voices in our communities and demand accountability to end violence.

We don’t get here from nowhere. When did the “othering” of Indigenous People begin? We never talk about the caste system in Canada but it was baked into Canada’s foundation. This essay on the Unfreedom of Indigenous People is fromThe Knowing, my new book. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

#RedDressDay is a day of quiet reflection for me. I remember, with gratitude, the families and survivors who shared their truths at the #NationalInquiry #MMIWG2S. I reflect on the remarkable NI staff, my colleagues and our Grandmothers. Change is happening, but too slowly.
