These toll lanes on I25 and I70 are the most elitist thing I’ve ever seen in Colorado . Poor people wait in traffic and the wealthy don’t .

I will not support the override of the Governor’s veto of SB25-086. I initially voted yes on SB86 because I believe in backing law enforcement and giving parents the tools they need to keep their kids safe from predators and criminals online. But after listening to the full Judiciary Committee testimony and talking directly with people across our district, there are valid concerns that this specific bill. While it intends to protect public safety, it may come at the expense of protecting free speech. The first duty of government is to defend individual rights — all of them. I respect the sponsors’ intent, but there are better ways to crack down on criminals without risking the constitutional freedoms of law-abiding citizens. After careful consideration, I will stand with the voices of my constituents and will not support the veto override.
