@noisecapella The bike lane should continue right through, like it does from Washington St eastbound onto Somerville Ave by the bacon building....

Frustrating that we are going to pay for this design before this is changed again to add protected bike lanes according to the bike plan. I don't know if it's money, maybe it is, but I feel like Cambridge generally takes this more seriously and does things right the first time

@noisecapella This means creates a conflict between slow moving right turn bikes (onto the hill), and also with accelerating cars turning left onto Central

@noisecapella Eh, worse than that. See how if you're turning right from Somerville Ave onto Central St, bikes HAVE to first merge with car traffic and then the bike lane restarts after the junction?

@SomervilleInfr1 The raised crosswalk at Washington and Hawkins makes it sooo much safer to walk my kids to school each day. Thanks!

It's the day before Thanksgiving! Tell me a Somerville Infrastructure improvement that took place over the last construction season, that you are thankful for?

Beacon is closed from Park to Washington. Ivaloo is utterly gridlocked with cut through traffic that cannot escape because Park is full too - from Beacon to Somerville Ave.

@crschmidt @somershade1 I hear you. The list of projects is good. At the same time, I can see how this went poorly across from my house every night, I have no clear answer to why it happened, whether it would happen again, and the letters CPA are attached to that project

@tadhgpearson @somershade1 I think that it's always possible to find some specific thing that you think has resulted from poor use of taxpayer dollars, but choosing not to support higher property taxes as a result of some thing that has gone wrong with those tax dollars feels like a misstep, imo.

Here's my take on this year's six ballot questions: TL;DR: Yes on every single one of them. 1/?

@BenForWard3 @somershade1 Yet it stayed, and a ton of lighting was added "for safety" which is ugly, anti-wildlife and ongoing cost. It was a CPA project, right?

@tadhgpearson @somershade1 My recollection was that this hut was maintained was because of the Historic Commission, who have to approve of any changes to PHP

@BenForWard3 @somershade1 Right... that was recollection too, with residents opposed to preserving it and the historic commission unable to pinpoint which decade the hut was built, and why it should be kept

@somershade1 Thanks for the perspective. I am on the fence on Q6 because of that weird little hut in Prospect Hill Pk, surrounded by high-powered lights, that was a product of the CPA. What decision process led to that, and do I want to put more money in that funnel?

That's my take on the ballot questions. However you choose to vote, please do so. It's really important that our elections be representative ... this one in particular. 11/11

here’s the list of costs borne by the T over the last two summers. cost is probably somewhere in the tens of millions of dollars, all paid by the T to support a highway project

to be clear @MassDOT has not and has no intent to reimburse the T for any of these lost revenue or costs to the T for the last two years of Sumner tunnel mitigation. Whether it’s the Big Dig or any other highway project, they’ll stick the T with any costs they can get away with
Jeremy Siegel@jersiegel

Just got a response to this question posted by @friendchristoph: No, the @MBTA hasn’t yet been reimbursed for mitigation during the Sumner closure

A little over a month ago, @SomervillePD posted this dash-cam picture of a "person of interest." I was curious about the department's policies around posts like this, so I made a public records request. x.com/SomervillePD/s… 1/?

@BriannaWu If you check the log, it said this for exactly 4 minutes before wikipedia rolled it back for "vandalism". This screenshot is just to anger you up and you fell for it. Seems both @Wikipedia and Twitter are working as intended :D

@somershade1 Curious: "We're not going to get anything better" doesn't sound like a great argument. Why pass as opposed to reject it?

On #Somernova, I say pass it (minus the neon signs). At this point my read (again - just speaking for me) it’s 50/50 whether this developer actually goes ahead with the project. We’re not going to get anything -better-, that’s for sure. 3/?

I’ve slept on it and I still don’t even know where to start re-engaging with either #CharterReform or #Somernova. It was a huge amount of time and effort to get nowhere. Kinda like the budget cut night, come to think of it. 1/?

Hard to believe Somerville schools begin on Wednesday. Our team has been hard at work this summer rebuilding Washington Street for all the folks going back to the Argenziano this week with bike lanes, new sidewalks, floating bus stops and a paved street from Webster➡️ Bowdoin.

Mastadon is still mostly for Mastadon fans. Bluesky has not taken off. Threads is a fucking mystery to me. I’m too old for TikTok, and I ain’t no streamah. My medium articles get solid traction, but I need to be telling a story there - not just watching, reacting and sharing.

So last week I bought a duplex here in Chicago. When the lender asked what I do for a living, I told them that I write Bits about Money. (It's more legible, and acceptable to underwriters, than other potential true answers to that question.) And thus, I bought title insurance.

Another collision, this one in Union Square. The cyclist was very fortunate and suffered only minor injuries. They are being taken to the hospital for further checks. 1/3
