Yesterday in the gym changing rooms I heard a young lady on a spa day announce cheerily she was almost ready to kill herself and her friends all laughed over whatever the ‘issue’ was. 🤷‍♀️ I was angry. I wanted to go over, tap her on the shoulder and sharply inject you shouldn’t say stuff like that!!!🤬 I’ve heard this ‘I’m going to kill myself’ phrase thrown around carelessly countless times over the years. But it’s only since 2020 that I notice it. AND THATS THE POINT…. Very rarely do people say stuff to offend others, I was taking offence due to MY issue. We can’t control everyone’s narrative and 9 times out of 10, people don’t even notice the things they say as they have never had an issue with it themselves. So when you do find yourself taking offence over a whimsical comment, maybe consider why. It’s more likely to do with YOUR issue, rather than theirs. By the way, I didn’t interrupt them, just walked off smiling that I had learnt something about myself. #selfawarness #mentalhealth
