Tough Call Podcast🎙️ 🇨🇦
If the on-ice officials had called “no goal” and the league therefore overturned the call on the ice instead of confirming the call, would you have agreed there’s definitive proof enough to justify it?

@takeitlikeaman9 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod I’ll explain it in detail for you -A play a the goal line occurs. -A confident call cannot be made. -The official blows the play dead and signals for review. -The situation room reviews the play & makes the call. -The official announces the call made by the situation room.

@DamonKimbaceda @NickZararis Hoe many times are you going to keep copy and pasting the same shit? What’s your goal? It’s OVER. Your team LOST. Move the fuck on.

@NickZararis The out of position referee blew his whistle at 17:33 but the play was not stopped until 17:31... Why? Would that 2 seconds make a difference on this play?

You can make the case this puck is out of site for at least 2 seconds before the referee even begins to skate over into the play, insane there's no whistle

@NickZararis Dude you’re all over Twitter with these nonsense claims. First, get fucking over it. You lost. Seconds you conveniently zoomed in this video. He’s out of frame skating towards the goal before this “2 seconds.” Third, address your shitty team getting outplayed, outworked, outshot

@Coleman42 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod You didn’t answer my question and you STILL don’t get it. There are so many ways your ideas have issues. So if there’s no ref call, that means play just goes on. Then you want the situation room just looking at play while live play is still happening?

@takeitlikeaman9 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod Yes, that is correct way to go Brian, you took a long time but you finally got there. Sucks you had to be such a prick but I digress I’m far from a ref apologist, but we’re only setting them up for failure by making them make a call on something they have no confidence in.

@Coleman42 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod If I’m the final boss of douchebags, you’re the final boss of short bus helmet wearing mental midgets. By your reasoning, the refs should just not call anything in the hopes video review will solve the issue. And if video review is inconclusive (cannot solve the issue), THEN WHAT

@Coleman42 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod I’ll try to explain again. See if you can keep up. Sometimes, in video review, it’s inclusive, which means whatever call there was on the ice stands. If there’s no call on the ice….what would happen if it’s inconclusive?

There are always going to be calls you don’t like especially this time of year. You can’t control the whistle. You can control your response. Stay disciplined. Stay locked in. Play your game. That’s how you win when it matters most.

@Coleman42 @ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod Sigh. Because the call on the ice COULD matter in the review process. That’s why. If it’s inconclusive, the call on the ice stands. It’s really not as difficult as you make it out to be.

@takeitlikeaman9 @chrispronger I believe you are correct, but the point your missing is the process. Also.. What about this. The out of position referee blew his whistle at 17:33 but the play was not stopped until 17:31... Why? Would that 2 seconds make a difference on this play? Just ignore that too?

@ESPNRefNHL @TopTierPucks I'm not a fan of refs doing a Q & A with the media after games as it will create more issues than it will solve IMO. That said, shouldn't the NHL publish the video / picture with the "irrefutable evidence" that the puck crossed the line.

From this angle you can clearly see part of the puck still touching the red paint Is this the worst goal call in NHL history?

@ZachFairweather @ToughCallPod That’s not how it works lmao. There HAS to be a call on the ice. Are all you people from Canada this stupid?

@ToughCallPod I think the on-ice officials should have immediately deferred to the video review crew & simply announced a stoppage for video review. It's the most sensible way to go about this situation in playoffs & not too different from when the puck goes in unseen and play is stopped later

@ToughCallPod @hammeryeg If you know why are you still talking about it? It’s over. Maybe focus on why your team sucks so much.

@fastj1 @BrockWHarrison Who the hell is Bill Daley? He doesn’t work for the NHL and is some obvious mental midget. NHL has already said it would have been a goal even if it was ruled no goal on the ice. How dumb are you?

@BrockWHarrison You are wrong. Bill Daley said there was not enough evidence to determine if the puck was definitely over the line, so if the on ice call would have been no goal, they would not have overturned it. The referee did not signal a goal on the ice. Only ruled a goal after the fact.

Even if the on-ice call was no goal, the video review is clear. Fake controversy.

@OilersNation You’re like 8 years late to the party. 99.9% of the world accepts its a goal. It’s the few dense/dumb fans like you who can’t accept. Time to move on. Or maybe focus on why your team sucks so much.

@DamonKimbaceda @chrispronger You COMPLETELY missed what the NHL has said. Do a little research. “Video replay determines the puck completely crossed the line.” Video replay determined it was a good goal. The on ice call had no bearing. An on ice call of no goal would have been overruled to good goal.

@takeitlikeaman9 @chrispronger The part of the rule that states: "If there is any doubt whatsoever..." Because the call on the ice was a good goal, it stands. Question is would it be different if it was called "no goal"?
