🇮🇱🇵🇸Holy shit, Haaretz published a list of atrocities Israeli soldiers did and saw in Gaza, and the details are stomach churning:
• Soldiers pissing on a bound, blindfolded detainee while laughing and joking about October 7
• Interrogators torturing detainees by tying cable ties around their genitals
• An officer executing an unarmed Palestinian who had surrendered with hands up, then covering it up as a “terrorist killed”
• Widespread excitement in units over “special means” used to kill people in tunnels, while one soldier said it reminded him of the Holocaust
• A tank gunning down five Palestinians crossing a line (four killed), followed by a D9 bulldozer burying the bodies in sand
• Soldiers opening fire on unarmed civilians, including an old man and three teenage boys who turned out to be completely unarmed
• Looting Palestinian homes, burning photos, and urinating on personal belongings for fun
The impact back home has been brutal.
Soldiers are throwing out mirrors because they can’t look at themselves.
Others are breaking down crying in public. Many are struggling with suicidal thoughts, shame, and nightmares.
These soldiers will carry this for decades.

Well if it was only as simple as that. The behind the meter customers have displaced thousands of MW of energy consumption. Had that not happened, the energy shortfall today would have been double the amount & we all know PMLN is terrible at managing even the existing shortfall. And the next phase is battery storage that is getting cheaper every year. The govt stands to lose its best customers and their exported units too.

There is more than 30 GW (GigaWatt) of Behind The Meter solar that exists in the country, which actually drove growth, and the duck curve.
Net Metering is like 500 MW, or 1.6% of total. 92% of households with solar are actually Behind The Meter. Net Metering didnt unlock nothing other than more drama. The real growth was due to a falling solar cost curve and Chinese dumping.
Net Metering is a good way for elite to feel good about themselves --- when actually growth is driven by those who are not on twitter, and can't do a great word salad.
The buyback rate on net metering should be two rupees per kWh - nothing more

Instead of strengthening the grid and building on the momentum of private investment in solar that Pakistan’s net metering policy had unlocked, the government went into overdrive to kill it. A rigid, outdated bureaucratic mindset couldn’t see beyond protecting an inefficient power system. The objective seemed less about enabling affordable, clean $30 energy alternatives, and more about maintaining a broken energy economy.

Araghchi’s tweet reflected an understanding in Tehran, likely based on what they heard from Pakistan, that if they took a positive step by opening Strait of Hormuz, US would reciprocate by lifting the blockade. But Trump kept the blockade in place, and through his many tweets, suggested that Iran was surrendering on the nuclear issue.
This has only fed Iran’s suspicions about Trump and that Islamabad like Geneva is a diplomatic ruse before another military attack. The door to diplomacy is not closed, but it has now become considerably more difficult. Deliberately or not, Trump has undermined diplomacy and raised likelihood of more war.

Intelligence sources believe roughly half of Iran's missile launchers are still intact, and thousands of attack drones remain operational. Somebody is lying, or both sides believe their own version. This gap matters because if Washington genuinely thinks Iran is neutralized, they'll miscalculate the next move.
