Of all the midfielders we’ve been linked to in the past year, I’ve watched Baleba the most full matches, highlights, comps, because fans like Mark Goldbridge and Martien were running campaigns for the club to “sell Bruno Fernandes and build around Baleba” And honestly, he might be the most overhyped player I’ve seen. I can genuinely understand why INEOS seem to prefer Ederson ahead of him. If we’re talking midfield profiles, Éderson edges Baleba in a few key areas right now, mostly because of experience, tactical maturity & end product. Éderson is already operating at a higher competitive level week in, week out in Serie A and in European football. I’d take him over Baleba for sure.

While he was very good in 24/25 season I have serious concerns around how he will adapt to the Premier League when Serie A fans say he is to slow. He can run and run and run and run, but does not have the best technical level.
