@tammywriter @ChristineMBrett That doesn't mean that attempts to increase breastfeeding rates are going to improve health outcomes and if you're concerned about stigma in relation to infant feeding, there's increasing evidence that women who formula feed get a very large dose of it.

Nope ❌absolutely no good evidence that how a baby is fed impacts the quality of relationship they have with their parents or anyone else ❌not a single study demonstrating that increasing breastfeeding has improved any health outcome in the U.K. or a comparable context 😱Most women in the U.K. find breastfeeding intolerable due to pain, latching or milk supply issues and stop well before intended ✋Would suggest looking at other ways to address environmental concerns rather than haranguing women about how they feed their babies.

Breastfeeding has many benefits including building a strong bond, protection from illnesses, as well as saving money and being environmentally friendly 🤱 For more information, visit pha.site/bfsupport

Please do direct us to these studies showing that increasing breastfeeding leads to improved health outcomes. Not correlational studies as I'm sure you know correlation does not imply causation. At the last infant feeding survey 80% women who started breastfeeding stopped before they intended to and gave pain, latching and milk supply as their reasons to stop. That's a clear indication that the majority are not finding it tolerable. Not hyperbole.
