@xaeluh Because some jobs have so much button bloat that it's borderline impossible to have a comfortable setup. But it went from one extreme to another. Instead of 36 buttons to have on your hotbar for some jobs, they just went "What if every job had a SMN hotbar" which is equally awful

8.0 combat system seems so insanely soulless that I really hope what they're showing right now is just the baseline and they expand on it in fun ways. Dumbing down every part of the rotation and removing any type of possible failure that isn't fight related is just doubling down

@Jitter07 Realistically it's just their way of getting people used to the "future" of the combat. They paint it in a nice coat of fake choice, keep the evolved one better so almost everyone gets coaxed into using it and then they'll remove the reborn mode cause "nobody used it".

I'm one of the psychopaths who liked the first half and utterly hated the second half and I still don't like Wuk. But it's probably easy to just dismiss any criticism of her character as "well you're an American with culture war brainrot"

Wuk Lamat is a great character and I’m still convinced the two main reasons Americans dislike her is because they either have main character syndrome of they got swept up in an anti-trans culture war

@envinyon It's okay to be wrong, you often are regarding XIV, so I find this post kinda hypocritical. I could also wrong, but I'm assuming you just viewed the title of the post and didn't bother reading the multiple paragraphs explaining why it would be a better direction going forward.
