Dear MAGAs, There is no federal law mandating PAID maternity leave. The FMLA only mandates UNPAID leave for eligible employees. Those who are ineligible include: Small businesses with fewer than 50 employees (that covers A LOT of businesses), part-time employees, employees with private employers and new employees--ZERO benefits, ZERO leave. I worked in child-care centers and restaurants for 30 years. Never ONCE did anyone there get paid maternity leave. Some even got let go for taking too long to come back to work. I'm happy for you that you live in Wacko-LaLa-Land. The rest of us live in the real world.
