Devotional tonight from Elder Cook,a powerful spiritual experience. “I want to be careful speaking about sacred experiences…I bear my apostolic and sure witness that Jesus Christ lives. I know his voice. I know his face. He leads and guides His Church today.” -Elder Cook

@ArtTakesNote A lot will depend on the measurements but Flemings is rising in my mind. The defense is vital and I see a tiny bit of Maxey w/ him offensively

@AJ3Jazz If Ace can be anywhere close I’d be over the moon (defense gotta come quite a ways tho)

Jaden McDaniels is such an awesome player. Shut Murray’s water down on one end and gave his team 30 on the other.

@ArtTakesNote @ZP12Hoops If Jazz are at 4 and top 3 goes AJ/DP/Cam in some order I’m fascinated to see if any trades happen. It’s always unlikely towards the top but that particular scenario could bring out some tough conversations about moving either up or down (or moving one of JJJ/Lauri???)

@ZP12Hoops Caleb would be much more intriguing if we didn’t trade for JJJ. The great thing about Cam is he can fit in any lineup iteration going forward whether it would be Lauri/JJJ, JJJ/Kessler, Lauri/Kessler, etc.

Additionally, upperclassmen guards get discredited more than they should. For example, had he been drafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Collin Gillespie would have returned top 6 value in that class, so far, and that's putting it lightly. Payton Pritchard was a late first round pick in 2022 who also was an upperclassman and is also returning T7 value in that class. Ty Jerome was a 6MOY candidate a year ago and also is one of the better & most underrated point guards in the league!!! Put some respect on these skiled true point guards who can be primary play initiators & score the rock as well! All sheets wins, might I add.
Dray Mottishaw@draymottishaw

Stirtz will be ending as PG1 for me. The amount of offensive load he's had to carry, all in the halfcourt, and with a balanced distribution of rim/3pt assists all while staying insanely turnover averse is crazy stuff. Although he resorted to bombing threes at a significantly higher rate this year — which isn't a terrible thing, especially when you're one of the best on ball shooters in the country — his drive frequency didn't tank at all after transferring up. This is still, in fact, a demon.

@draymottishaw @AJ3Jazz Haha you have a well reasoned take and I don’t like it but that doesn’t mean you’re wrong necessarily. I do see the flashes w him but maybe that’s too optimistic.

@tanner__wallace @AJ3Jazz I just meant that's where he was going to go on draft night had Utah not interfered (luckily, we would've been stuck with Fears). MPJ would be fine, I suppose, but he and all of the other fine outcomes there had to shoot their way to becoming positive in a way that idk if Ace can

@draymottishaw @AJ3Jazz These types of conversations it’s all about what you’re getting back. I don’t really want anything the Wizards have, especially with the draft odds changing. MPJ not bad outcome btw Nuggets wish they had MPJ rn.

@UofBasketball @KalshiSports @KalshiHoops Shouldn’t this be FGA defended on a per-game basis? Ofc Draymond/Horford will be elite if we consider totals, a lot of these other dudes came into the league halfway thru the data sample

@BrettSiegelNBA Ik people hate math nerds for being arrogant and pedantic but this just isn’t how probability works. This is the same logic as saying everyone in the league shoots exactly 50% on FTs or threes bc it either goes in or it doesn’t. Binary outcome is not 50/50 probability.

@ZP12Hoops I’m terrified we land 5 or 6 and take the wrong guard. Idk who that would even be but it feels like a bit of a toss-up (and pretty situationally dependent) what the outcomes for all those guys will be

@LukeFHan @SocialistMormon For me personally the question is more what “addressed in the law” means. Lots of wiggle room there. I would support a law that echoes the stance of the Church (I.e. elective abortions banned) but I would NOT support a blanket ban.

That doesn't respond to anything I said. You just changed the topic. My original post can be constructed as a syllogism 1 The law should protect the innocent from harm. 2 From both a religious and scientific perspective, abortion harms the innocent Conclusion: Abortion should be addressed in the law. Which premise do you disagree with and why?

The Church clearly teaches why abortion is sinful, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes in the sanctity of human life. Therefore, the Church opposes elective abortion..." Human laws exist to protect innocent life. If you believe the Church's teaching on abortion (and the science on when human life begins for that matter), there is NO good reason to advocate for government to stay out of the abortion question.
Socialist Mormon@SocialistMormon

There are members of the Church who don't seem to understand opposing something on spiritual grounds while allowing it on political grounds. I believe abortion can be a serious sin. That doesn't mean I think an absolute nationwide ban on it is a good idea.
