@dkreplika @TIME I’m truly curious to see how that shapes into something good! Living with this anticipation for more than a year already while working on @replika

Airbnb CEO @bchesky says the chatbot is a "pre-AI interface," rather than the end-state interface for artificial intelligence: "We're in the MS-DOS phase of AI." "The future AI interface will have a reference to chat, but it's probably going to be much more visual. Most people aren't completely text-based." "The chatbot is really a pre-AI interface that we've plugged onto this incredibly powerful engine." "I really think the models are even more powerful than people realize, because we have hardly harnessed them."

@dkreplika jk, it actually works bad, so we don’t really have a choice in these cases

@dkreplika When interviews for candidates are scheduled in Google meet, I pretend it works bad and ask candidates to move to zoom 😅

everyone in replika hates zoom. i still use it everyday though it's an ugly piece of software and it works bad so probably i'm just insane

btw replika is relaunching in a few weeks with a completely new experience and it's insane. testing it on testflight rn, retention on a test cohort is crazy at 80% day 7. dm @replika - they still had a few invites for the closed alpha in the morning

@azamsharp I always have to remind those agents to use swift format styles instead of formatters. They never learn

Interesting that ChatGPT did not choose TimelineView to build the live clock watermark. It also did not use the date.formatted helpers to format the time. In the end it reached the same result but with more code. I wonder how much extra code ends up in AI generated projects. Is it 2X or 100X?

Which technique will you use to show the value of count when available else show loading message? * You are not allowed wrap the Text in any other view. * If you have better solution then write in comments. #SwiftUI

@SebJVidal We've built custom navigation stack, master-detail container, customizable modal presentation, bottom sheet. And we have a custom navigation bar that is easy to configure, make global, local, nested etc. Very cool thing to work with and improve.

@SebJVidal Which is why it's great to build a custom navigation with SwiftUI! Well... almost great. Unless you need to work with UIViewRepresentable... or complex transitions for generic views... or to preserve a view state while it's not on screen...

It's hard not to add fuel to the "is SwiftUI production-ready" fire when this is the state of the "best way to build an app" 6 years after the framework was released... 🙃 ~30 lines of (admittedly sloppy) but simple code, unusable on iOS 26. Oh! And it works just fine on 18 🫠
