@reporterchris @TheAthletic Disappointed. What a fabricated made up article. I use to enjoy getting info from CJ.

New, for @TheAthletic: Auston Matthews isn't yet sure if he'll be back in Toronto next season. The Maple Leafs are on the clock with their captain 🔗⬇️

First run at the top five in my 2026 #NHLDraft mock.

@capsboybebop What about an organization that just had one bad year after making the playoffs for a decade straight…. And already has Matthews, Nylander, Knies, Tavares and Cowan?

@TSN_Sports @TSNHockey Chayka hacks the servers and gets the buds the first overall pick. Now that’s the analytics driven leader keith pelley was talking about. Whammyyyy.

@MikeGrinnell_ Johnny Chayka uses analytics to rigg the draft. What a legend.

On Steve Simmons...
I have no issue with the premise of his question, asked cordially.
For example:
"Based on my research, it seems John Chayka's a polarizing figure around the league. In fact, most of the people I talked to were surprised by your decision to hire him. Can you elaborate on your due diligence process and share your perspective on the incidents which led to punishment from the league?"
I mean, that's a heater as written.
I have an issue with calling John Chayka a liar and a con man, as corroborated by 19 of 20 anonymous sources.
I have an issue with an experienced journalist hijacking the press conference, turning it into a spectacle about an uncommonly explosive question. Especially in this setting. I think it's a disservice to the staff and the fan base.
The biggest issue I have, though, is that he directed the question to Keith Pelley. John Chayka is sitting right next to him. If you want to call the guy a liar and a con man, at least have the courtesy to say it to him directly.
The problem is... it's a lot like when a Karen starts an argument with an employee at a Best Buy. Karen has no obligation to conduct herself in any particular way - she's free to fly off the handle. The employees are wearing a uniform. There are customers in the store. They don't have the same luxury. It's a gutless exchange.
Par for the course from Steve Simmons.

@Jay_D_Rosehill All the alumni big dogs sitting in the front row too, What a statement that is. I am optimistic.
English

@ldl716 You see the alumni support in the front row of that presser though? That’s the biggest takeaway for me.
English

@spittinchiclets Biggest takeaway from this presser is the fact that Chayka not only has Mats Sundin behind him but some of the most notable alumni sitting in the front row in Tucker, Gilmour and Wendel Clark. There is something people are missing here. That makes me optimistic.
English

@ldl716 @reporterchris Isnt the point that its not conclusive so the call on the ice should stand? What was the call on the ice, does anyone know?
English

@reporterchris I can’t believe ppl saying not definitive lol. Use a little math and your eyes. The puck was over the line. It’s definitive from what we can see. Just because Jarry’s skate blade was over top of the puck doesn’t negate that fact.
English

@thegoldenmuzzy So true. Why do they switch the rules whenever they want
