Transitional football can definitely be successful I am not arguing that. But the best teams you mentioned still had control, structure and the ability to dominate games when needed. That’s the difference. Right now, United rely heavily on moments and transitions without consistent control. Over a full season, that’s hard to sustain especially when teams sit deeper.

What bothers me with Carrick is that I always knew this squad was good enough for top 4 & very aware of how bad a job Amorim was doing holding the team back so I do have huge questions over how good Carrick is/can be That being said I’ll take him over the others reported #MUFC

No matter how you frame it, Carrick isn’t the long-term solution for Manchester United. We’ve spent over a decade “steadying the ship” without real progress. It’s time to be audacious. Define a clear style of play then bring in the manager and players to match it. Anything else is just repeating the same cycle.

If Nagelsmann joined United mid season and finished 3rd while beating City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea along the way, nobody would be talking about the style of play. He’d be praised as genius who adapted instantly to the Premier League and outcoached the best managers. Tell me I’m wrong?
