💥Mark Lynch (R) ENTERS THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE RACE, Greenville businessman, announced he is entering the special GOP primary for South Carolina’s U.S. Senate seat after Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sudden death on July 11, 2026. LYNCH GOT 28.9% OF THE VOTE against Graham (who had Trump’s endorsement and heavy spending).
Graham won renomination in June with 56.8%.
Gov. Henry McMaster will appoint an interim senator; a special primary is set for Aug. 11 (filing July 21–28).
💥Lynch owns Jeff Lynch Appliance Center, which he grew into a major regional business employing 110+.
A deacon, family man, and addiction counselor, he ran as an “America First” conservative in the June primary, self-funding ~$5M and earning 28.9% against Graham (who had Trump’s endorsement and heavy spending).
Lynch criticized Graham’s foreign policy and establishment record. He is the first major entrant for the special race, committing another $5M.
SC remains solidly Republican, so the nominee is favored in November vs. Democrat Annie Andrews.
The short timeline favors Lynch’s name recognition, though other candidates may enter.
