It’s high time that we start fining these clubs exploiting LTIR loopholes, tampering and super team friendly deals some serious cap recapture penalties. The fact Vancouver got fined a backdiving/frontloaded deal compared to these sun belt clubs is preposterous.

@tdwayt @4thLineDusterr What are you gonna go? Say no? Trade the guy? Take him to arb? Risk an offer sheet? Oilers had no leverage here. Death taxes and the oilers using bridge deals to hurt themselves. Could’ve had him at maybe 6 or 7 for 5 or 6 years two years ago.

@CentreOfWeight @4thLineDusterr I think it is a reasonable compromise. Oilers window is like 3-4 years before they need to overhaul the lineup. Protects oilers a but if some of Bouchard’s bad habits become more of a problem.
