The letter I read to my parents when I came out to them earlier this year. Perhaps the most important thing I have ever written. 🌈 #faithfullylgbt

Jane Austen used 'however' at the beginning of a sentence, and so can you.

Here is an interesting adjective quirk that you probably aren’t even aware you are doing. In English, adjectives seem to follow a specific order: opinion - size - age - shape - color - origin - material - purpose - noun

@chenchenwrites Attending an open mic to hear others and sometimes share some of my own poetry. I’m also in a monthly poetry book club, so I have a way to discover new poets.

when Virginia Woolf said, “Autumn is my season, dear; it is, after all, the season of the soul” and when F. Scott Fitzgerald said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall” and when Anne Shirley said, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

@dst6n01 This week in Oklahoma we launched a free SOR training for teachers in grades 4-8. Participants will complete ~15 hours of module work in foundational literacy skills and also attend 3 Zoom meetings to reinforce learning & identify application strategies. sde.ok.gov/language-arts

For my middle school teacher friends... Recent data indicate that students may be entering (or moving) through grades 6-8 with serious and strong reading needs. What can you do to support student reading and writing skills? (All contents welcome to respond!)

Yes, it’s annoying when people watch videos in public spaces, but I’m also tired of businesses blasting in music to create a special aesthetic. Restaurants do this, but other places do too. People know how to have conversations, and silences aren’t necessarily uncomfortable.

General American English (GAE) can replace Standard American English (SAE) to refer to the English we learn to read and write in schools. Language is a continuum. There are many varieties of English dialect. 📖 Learning from @jwashingtonPhD
