My understanding is that the Andy Dalton trade is not related to anything involving Tanner McKee. #Eagles always value the QB room more than most as evidenced by the Sam Howell trade last season. McKee is entering the final year of his rookie deal so there is added flexibility in case a significant offer develops.

@Fly_EaglesBets Epps needs to be back. Carter is a great project and probably has a higher up side. Epps can do it. We have seen it in two separate defensive schemes.

The way things are shaping up at safety, don’t be surprised if the Eagles go cheap and the answer might already be in the building. Howie Roseman has always prioritized spending on the D-line and outside corner, and while linebacker used to be the position that took the pay cut, after paying Zack Baun that might now be safety. They’ve clearly stayed out of the market with guys like Reed Blankenship and others getting deals. One player who did choose to stay was Michael Carter when he reworked his contract below. Carter just turned 27 and was paid like one of the top nickels in the league a few years ago, so a move to safety could be something to watch. With Mukuba holding one starting spot, it wouldn’t be surprising if Marcus Epps comes back on a cheap deal and competes with Carter for the other.

CB Michael Carter II signed a 1 year, $2.765 million restructured contract with the #Eagles that includes $1.45M fully guaranteed. The move clears $8.5M of 2026 cap space for Philly, and sets up the 27-year-old for free agency next March. More: spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/i…

The Ravens were interested in pairing together Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby this offseason, according to GM Eric Decosta. Decosta says Crosby’s medical exam put an end to the potential duo.

Remember, it was the Ravens Eric DeCosta who sold the #Eagles on Jaire Alexander being OK to acquire. Alexander retired shortly after being dealt. I don’t t buy for a second what they’re selling on Crosby, especially now that they landed Hendrickson just hours later.

How fast did Howie Roseman jump on the phone to offer the Raiders a 5th and 6th for Crosby. Maybe sweetened it with a 7th.

@thomasrp93 There’s no way they resign him after shipping him off for nothing.

I never expected the Eagles to be active early this offseason with signing outside free agents. But it’s very smart to sit out what has essentially become the NBA’s free agency period in 2016.

Late in the season, I was chatting with Eagles DL coach Clint Hurtt about a different topic when Jordan Davis came up. Hurtt's face lit up and he said he wanted to set the record straight on something: Hurtt: "Not a lot can piss me off. But what pisses me off when everybody feels like, 'Well, it's a contract year. That's why he did it.' I've heard that a couple times. ...I grind my teeth, because this didn't happen in the offseason. This actually happened in the middle of (the 2024) season. This is when the Peloton stuff came out, when he kind of found himself in what he needed to do to be the best version of himself. "So it wasn't like, 'Alright, this is the time (to get a contract).' Because this started way earlier than that. It's changed his life. ...That's a man that's changed his life and committed to a better version of himself, and his game is still doing this, too. So yeah, it's the maturity part. And I say that not in the negative — he wasn't immature before, but it was like, continue to grow and just figure things out. " ...He's still that young, playful, big kid at heart, all those things are part of him. But it's now the seriousness that. I got to take my personal life and my career (over) to take it where I want to get to. And now he's owning it."
