In 2023, I was stranded in Oshodi while coming back from an interview. No cash, no money in the account. Phone at 4%. Rain was beating me black and blue with no hideout. I posted: “Please, is anybody around Oshodi? My phone is about to go off and I’m stuck at Arena Junction. I need 2k for transport to get back home. I’ll pay back tomorrow. No jokes please.” I tagged three of my closest friends, people that called me “sister” on birthdays. First reply was laughing emojis. “LMAO, you don finally cast.” Second reply: “Omo, trek am, exercise.” Third person saw it and posted a meme two minutes later. My phone died. I sat on a bench laid across the walkway, soaked, watching Lagos run past me, thinking this is how it ends for two thousand naira. After a few minutes, a car parked close to where I was. The car windows rolled down and a voice asked, “Are you Ireoluwa?” I nodded. “One guy say make I carry you go Abule Egba. E don pay.” I got in without thinking twice. Halfway, my phone buzzed on the driver’s power bank. A DM from a stranger I never followed: “Hey there, I saw your post. I really don’t know you but I know that feeling. Bolt is paid to your street. Get home safe. No need to pay back. Just help someone else one day when you can.” I got home and checked his page. He’d been job hunting for three months and was probably broke. But he sent me a ride and some money. Now we are good friends even though we have still never met. My friends with jobs posted me for cruise. A stranger with nothing posted me for life. That night I learned friendship doesn’t define family. Sometimes your lifeline is the person you’ve never met.

@Temmy_omoileri Profound. Knowing your worth as a child of God. I have a sincere question ma'am. What is your opinion about those who uses the word of God to back their stay in such desecrated matrimony with an unrepentant cheating partner and even those who encourage them to stay?

For the fact that I prayed, I waited, and trusted God and he came, and I did my due diligence as a godly wife in service to God and man in total submissiveness, wanting nothing. If all he has to repay me back is cheating, my dear GSW, thank God we know each other beyond social media, brother mi, I WILL WALK AWAY. It is a deservice to me and God for him to cheat on me. I am defiled and desecrated. I am not ignorant of my kingdom right as a child of God. On that bed of adultery ends the marriage. Woe betide me to beg a man to stay with me after cheating on me, I WILL RATHER DIE. If he is the last man on earth to marry me, then I’ll remain single till I die. Not at this stage of my life will I embrace such huge disrespect when I had surrendered all in matrimony. I bless God for his life also that he honours marital bed beyond just eye service. He is a faithful son of God. Sewa okay? Eku Ojo meta.

Misinformation!!!! When Ugo called out his wife for cheating on him, everyone stormed her page to go through her profile. A guy then screen-recorded this video Ugo’s wife shared and posted it, claiming the wife was on a girls’ trip, which is a lie. These girls are not related to Ugo’s wife. In fact, this video was posted in February and Don Jazzy reposted it!! Ugo’s wife probably found the video funny and shared it on her page. These girls have been dragged and humiliated for something they know nothing about just because someone shared their video. Let’s all try to verify or at least check properly before putting out information.

This is Mr Ugo. He reportedly spent ₦30 million on his wedding ceremony. Mr Ugo married his wife in 2023, and they welcomed a child in 2024. Before the marriage, she had allegedly cheated on him in Lagos, but he forgave her. During her pregnancy, Ugo even made a vlog talking about how he wanted his wife to have a good life and how he was trying to create a pregnancy app for her. She later relocated with him to the UK, where he paid her school fees and took good care of her. After she gave birth, he bought her a car as a push gift and also created an app for her and the baby. People admired their relationship because they looked deeply in love. Fast forward to April 8, 2026, Ugo went on X to call out his wife for allegedly cheating on him with another man in their house while he was working hard to pay her school fees. As if that wasn’t enough, he also claimed that after being caught, she still wanted him to continue paying her school fees.

Let me tell you how I got into Microsoft and how to solve the "world-class skill gap problem" I commenced my Master's in Computer Science at FUTO in 2014 shortly after leaving the University. You know Nigerian parents na, after drumming "do your Master's!", you had no choice but to oblige, as the alternative - seating at home, wasn't practical. But it was at FUTO I understood what it meant for your destiny to slip out of your hands. It was at FUTO I got to hear that people were running Master's program for 4-5 years. I thought my case would be different. Oya na, after chasing lecturers to come and take lectures, and sorting one or two, I had to ask myself, "is this life?" I said toh, I began to apply like a mad man to intern software engineering positions, and finally happened upon the Microsoft 4Afrika program. Took a bus from Owerri to my hometown in Anambra because I just sorta KNEW I'd be called soon. A few days later, I saw an interview invite by 3pm, for an interview the following day in Lagos. 10am interview in Lagos tomorrow? I was at Obosi at 3pm. Ngwanu, I sharply selected some rumpled shirts, put in my box and headed to the park. Long story short, that's how I got to Ogun State by 10pm and lodged at the Redeem Camp in readiness for my interview the following day, which I excelled in. Now, I've got in right? But it was all rote work. Mostly CRUD operations on some contracted Government websites. I told myself that I didn't have a paper on "Cryptographic Systems" and another in "Multi-Agent Systems" as far back as 2013 to come here and be doing CRUD. I started posting my write ups every day on LinkedIn. 1 like there, 2 likes there. E consign their papa, I just kept posting. UNTIL ONE DAY. Someone set up a job interview at Microsoft. Nibo? Well, if this was a miracle, no wahala, we go run am. On the interview day, William fucking Adams, a Technical Adviser to the CTO of Microsoft, Kevin Scott, was at the other end of the screen. He started with, "Johnmark, I have your CV in front of me". My village people whispered, "ask him how he got your CV." OMO thank God for my mother's prayers. The interview wasn't even an interview. He was just talking about his travels, and life. I asked myself, "which kain interview be this?" Then he ended the interview with a question, "say you have unlimited money, what will you do to develop Nigeria?". Bro, both the ideas I had read in novels and sci-fi movies, coupled with my creativity, I sha talked for close to 10 mins. He replied with "hmmm". That was it. 3 days later, Chun Lu, my soon-to-be Manager messaged and said, "I'll call soon to discuss your offer". Na so I enter o. Me ke? I first called pops and moms, told them, "Master's nto!" They were really happy. Anyway, I got into the Microsoft within the Microsoft Leap team, who were exploring ideas around upskilling folks to get into tech, and also creating a sustainable pipeline in that regard. We had a clear model: 1. This is not the typical internship. This is an apprenticeship. We source for job applicants, train them and PLACE them in firms across Nigeria. To clarify, they didn't know it yet, but everyone who succeeded after applying for the 'apprenticeship' will become a full-time employee post-training, as agreed with those companies. 2. Target those who were not in the tech field and foster interest in the field, especially women. 3. Work with Universities, through their Student Unions, to get a fresh pool of potential applicants, do baseline tests to get the most quality candidates, and maintain a priority pool of talent. 4. Work with State governments to draw up state-wide hackathons and training programs for talent in their states, and repeat the ending part of (3) above. We didn't do so well in (2) and (3) however we saw real success because at least 80% of those trained became Seniors in local and International organizations in 5 years or less. Take note, we worked with the clear assumption that trained talent will definitely see better opportunities and leave, but we saw in real time that talent in the priority pool were always more than enough. The biggest bottleneck was (1), because we moved very slow sometimes. You know how bureacracy in top firms can be. Anyway, that's how to grow a pipeline. Emphasis is on training, partnerships, and maintaining a consistently credible pool of top talent. If top guns like @DONJAZZY or @davido, and even the Ministry of Education can come forward to support this in a way that isn't run on man-no-man and the Nigerian bureaucratic process, we will see our talent issues solved in no time.

Before I got married my brothers sends me money they want to use for something important to keep for them because they know it is safe in my hands and I will give them back anytime they need it. My husband was with my phone when my elder brother transferred some money into my account, he had already called me in the morning to tell me that he will be sending some money for me to keep for him that he wants to buy goods and he doesn't want to use it before then. My husband saw the credit alert and asked me how come such amount of money entered my account, I explained everything to him. He said it is dash that my brother dash me the money because he knows as the only girl among four guys they do send me some money from time to time but not as huge as this and he knows I keep money for them most times. He said it's not true that how can I have such amount of money when he is looking for money to pay his mother's house rent and his sisters school fees. I called my brother before him so that he can explain to him what he wants to use the money for, after the call he said we planned it that I am very w!cked and heartIess for knowing that he needs money and am hiding money from him and he is giving me 24hours to divide the money into two and give him half if not we are done with the marriage. I still called my brother and told him everything, he said I should transfer his money back to him because he doesn't want to hear stories with his business money. I transferred the money back to him immediately. In the morning my phone didn't rest from my inlaws calls, my mother in law called and insulted me for not being a submissive wife to my husband that I don't know that my money belongs to my husband the same way I now belong to him. His sister that is still schooling called and said that i am evil, meanwhile I have always been the one taking care of her feeding as she is in school, since I don't have a younger sister I have been taking care of her like my younger sister. I was just laughing because they thought all their insult will make me give them money that is not mine and for that reason I concluded that if the marriage should continue, they will not get any dime from me again. After 24hours my husband asked about half of the money, I told him that I've transferred the money back to the owner with the proof of the transaction, all heII let loose, my husband threw my things outside that I should leave his house. I called two of my brothers that lives close and they came, they tried to tell him to have a rethink that he cannot throw me out just like that because of a minor issue. He said he doesn't want to see me again else they will carry my c0rpse if they leave me that night in his house, that was how my brothers took me back with them. After one month, he came begging that I should come back that life has not been easy for him since I left. My brothers are saying never will I go back to him because of the way he acted and the things he said that night, they now see him as a very dangerous threat to my life. His mother and sister has been begging too, I don't want to go back but do you think I am being hard on them?

My husband actually told me to not change my name from my late husband’s last name. He said what happens to the kids that goes by that name if I suddenly changed my last name to his. I was shocked and couldn’t comprehend it, he stood his ground. Men who are secure in themselves will not pressure you but promote you.
Temmy@Temmy_omoileri

Your husband didn’t send money to your account because you didn’t change your last name. Why should that even be a discussion of contention? This is why many women are leaving their marriages once they’re financially stable, because I can’t comprehend why a man should do that to you.

After dressing my three-year-old niece for school, I noticed she had a puffy face. She was frowning seriously, so I asked her, “Ivie, what is the matter?” She replied cutely, “Aunty Gift, you didn’t do ‘shishishi’ for me.” “What is shishishi again?” I asked. She pointed at the body spray. I laughed. “See this girl, you want adult body spray? Oya, come and spray your shishishi.” When I was done, she smiled and pointed at her lips. “Aunty Gift, see my lips, rub it.” Me: “Rub it what? Oya carry your bag and go to school.” 😂 I don’t understand this generation of kids o 😭 From shishishi to lip balm, this generation is not playing at all 😭

I was watching the wedding of actress Sola Sobowale’s daughter, and the groom’s vibe is somehow off to me. In one of the videos, they were about to take a photo with Governor Seyi Makinde, and when the bride tried to stand in the middle, the groom shook his head and pushed her back to the side. The way he corrected her was rough. After he shoved her, he completely ignored her to go hug the Governor. She had to move closer to them because he clearly didn’t care about her in that moment. I don't like that sign at all. Believe that sign when they show it to you. He was supposed to be a protector. He should have told the Governor he wanted his wife in the middle or drawn her closer with love and respect at his side, but he didn't. Public disrespect is never just a one time thing. It’s a preview of how you'll be treated when the cameras are off. If he can sideline you on your best day, where does he put you on your worst? And no, I can't excuse this behavior as stress of the day like some are saying. But I pray he understands and learns how to truly respect her. I wish them a happy married life. - Oby
