President Trump's $1.776 billion settlement with the IRS is one of the single most corrupt acts in American history. They moved fast to avoid the scrutiny of the judicial process, and very likely violated the Constitution. This is an outrage.

@kscottz Paid for by 2008’s Measure R and 2016’s Measure M. Nothing to do with Olympics but that created time goals. Bay Area needs similar funding measure.

I'm not a huge fan of the Olympics but hearing that LA is building no new venues and instead spending tens of billions of dollars on transit projects to make 2028 a "transit first" event almost changes my mind. Meanwhile SF can't find $300M for Muni or finish the T line.

659 Union Update: One individual has filed an appeal which is blocking the emergency demolition of this unsafe site. Originally the appeal was set to be heard at the end of May (!) but we were able to get it moved up until April 22nd. I'm working to reform this broken system.

@Scott_Wiener Why are we always in danger of running out of funding for public transit but the highways don’t have a similar problem?

This is not a drill. Absent stable long-term funding, Caltrain, like BART, will crater & potentially shut down entirely. Muni will reduce service by as much as 50%. We can avoid this disaster for the Bay Area by passing two funding measures on the ballot in November: a regional measure I legislated last year & a companion measure in San Francisco sponsored by the Mayor. The Bay Area runs on transit. Without it, we’ll see escalating gridlocked traffic, people not being able to get where they’re going & way more pollution. We must not let that happen.

Same with music. Rips from my own CDs at 320 kbs/MP3 sound so much better. I use the same speaker/amp/pre-amp system for both and it is hard to go back to streaming. The native CD sound is not any better than the MP3. I even compared streaming locally via JellyFin vs Amazon Music and Google Music, all through the same phone onto a Bose BT speaker. JellyFin is much better. I assume thy do all sorts of compression, dynamic voodoo and DRM stuff that just ruins it.

Getting a 4K player and an OLED really opens your eyes to how streaming services just completely butcher movies with compression lol
