@iamgingertrash I see Roon and the people surrounding him as grifters. But the underclass of society is no different. The State was built to keep them in check. In no historical period have they ever contributed to progress. A SF waiter has more in common with a 11th century Norman serf.

@RidhamRadio @Handre Mani, the ones running the printing press won't let you become a cantillionaire. No matter how hard you shill your self-dignity away for them.

@Handre Productive is productive because it depends upon the so called negative in every way. Get the government out of the equation and the positivity will not survive to see the end of a day.

The Yuan dynasty handed us history's most perfect case study in monetary destruction when Kublai Khan's government abandoned silver-backed currency for pure fiat paper money in 1260. The Mongols initially maintained the existing Chinese monetary system—silver ingots and copper coins with real metallic value. Smart move for conquerors who understood they needed economic stability. But power corrupts absolutely, and unlimited money printing corrupts faster than anything else in human history. By 1260, the temptation became irresistible. Why collect taxes from reluctant subjects when you can simply print wealth into existence? The Yuan issued their first paper chao notes backed by nothing but imperial decree and the threat of execution for anyone refusing to accept them. Marco Polo marveled at this "alchemy" in his travels, calling it ingenious that the Khan could create money from mulberry bark. What Polo witnessed wasn't genius—it was the inevitable pattern of government monetary manipulation that Austrian economists recognize instantly. Predictably, the printing presses ran hot. The government funded massive public works, military campaigns, and bureaucratic expansion with fresh paper. Prices exploded across the empire. By 1350, hyperinflation had destroyed the currency entirely. Peasants abandoned the worthless chao and returned to barter systems. The economic chaos contributed directly to the dynasty's collapse in 1368—lasting barely a century largely because they destroyed their own monetary system. Every central banker today follows the exact same playbook as Kublai Khan, just with digital entries instead of mulberry bark. The technology changes, but the economic laws remain ruthlessly constant.

@pgipe Car salesman are scum. Got similarly shafted twice with the "yes, you can totally test drive it today!" - including having to drive 7 hours across two states only to leave empty handed

Flew up to Chicago to check out a car yesterday. Dude literally pulling it out for test drive when we walked in and then bought it. More comical than frustrating really. At least I got an IFR departure and some Class Bravo time out of it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@study__rabit Gets easier with clinical practice. You'll then move into the stage wherein you automatically start calculating Winter's formula to get a sense of how things are going

@techpriestbio @programaths @ArmedJ0y No. That's not how countries work. Maybe the laws of the U.S. apply there, like with ships in international waters, but it's not 'in the country' Physical place and jurisdiction are 2 different things

Meh. It’s not about payouts. It’s mostly about airplanes, military & cooking. But it’s not really about that, either. I’m building a weapon. When covid hit, I could see us going the wrong direction…but I had no voice. Nobody would listen. In fact, locally, I was shouted down & branded as many bad things. It was an eye-opening experience. It was a mass panic & we did a lot of harm when there were many voices trying to calm the herd. I was caught flat-footed & helpless. I’m not doing that again. I’m building a weapon I hope to not use. It’s one I’ll only use for the most dire situations. At least that’s how I try to see it; I’ve opened my mouth on a few things I probably shouldn’t. My theory is the more I use the weapon, the less effective it becomes, until eventually everyone tunes me out again. So, you get explanations of airplanes & the military, things I have experience with. Cooking is a bonus, trying to build an audience that I hope to not have to pull an alarm on. If the time comes, I’ll use the weapon until every round is spent. I’ll attempt to calm the herd & mitigate the damage, and I’ll destroy my account to do it, because this is a world I’m trying to shape for my kids. I’m on the downhill Anyway, it’s not about payouts. I hope you can at least be entertained!

@DocLibertarian Our future historians will lament how dearly unions set back our infrastructure by half a century. China achieves so much since they don't let projects of great national welfare be held hostage by thug contractors!

It’s funny. Now that I’m opening my own clinic, I’ve never wanted to practice medicine more! No more hospital administrator looking over my shoulder. No more dealing with insurance. I get to make all of the decisions, and I’m barely going to have to touch a keyboard or a mouse. I just get to take care of patients which is my fundamental calling. It’s unreal, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally practice medicine on my own terms!
