@unclebobmartin Could you please suggest a pattern to develop an Organisation’s preferences capability in Java? I thought of a property like: private Map<SettingTypeEnum, Map<SettingDetailEnum, Object>> settings.

@unclebobmartin It’s not a religion but it’s fundamental to write great working software. It’s the thinking approach that it leads developers to follow. Most importantly, it’s the refactoring at the end of each cycle to produce Clean Code. And that for me is the most important part.

@teslaeurope Please setup a Supercharger in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK. There are so many Teslas now, it would certainly be economically beneficial. Currently I have to spend 10% of a 300 miles charge just to go to the nearest Supercharger.

@allenholub A backlog is to prioritise activities, including discovered issues

What matters is lead time: problem-discovered to solution-delivered time. If you have a backlog, you are not providing solutions for discovered problems—they're just sitting on your backlog. Sticking your head in the sand and pretending that's not a significant issue is not a good strategy, IMO. Instead, you need to create a system where solutions are delivered in a timely fashion. Velocity is an utter irrelevance. Focus on the outcomes, not the pace.
Marc Brooks 马博江@IDisposable

@ardalis @ConservePeace @bella_artur @allenholub Honestly, this whole "there shouldn't be a backlog" thing smacks of Not My Problem syndrome... it's merely pushing the work and tracking of not-ready stories onto someone else. While that may increase the team's velocity, it's not going to speed the holistic whole.

@elonmusk how about a yearly supercharging small fee for Tesla users to allow free supercharging where energy is produced by clean sources (like solar or wind)?

@maxedapps Are you available for consultancy? We need help with Angular security architecture and were wondering whether we could use your help for a couple of hours?

@IntelliJSupport @intellijidea I’m pleased to report that by adding no serve — host 127.0.0.1 and running the “Angular Application” configuration in Debug mode allows me to debug the app from the IDE

@techwings_io @intellijidea Node 17+ is known for network connectivity issues because of changes in respect to the host system's DNS resolving, this can cause problems loading sourcemaps. If downgrading Node interpreter to 16.x is not an option for you, a workaround is to use `ng serve --host=127.0.0.1`

@IntelliJSupport @intellijidea Thank you I will try that. How about abstracting that workaround (with a notice of course) in the UI? Something like (we’re running the debugger with —host 127.0.01 because of Node’s compatibility issues? That would make for a better user’s experience

@IntelliJSupport @intellijidea The issue is that the debugger only works with Node 16 or earlier. I’m using 18. What about upgrading support for the latest node versions? As paying customers this is the minimum we’d expect

@POTUS I actually agree with it. The cornerstone of democracy and freedom is that everyone should be treated fairly regardless of their heritage or religious beliefs. Specifically allowing university to direct admission based on someone’s skin colours is a violation of democracy

For decades, the Supreme Court recognized a college’s freedom to decide how to build a diverse student body and provide opportunity. Today, the Court walked away from precedent, effectively ending affirmative action in higher education. I strongly disagree with this decision.

@NotMyAgile Refactoring is about protecting the business investment because if you don’t, the code you’re writing will end up in a mess and ways more costly overtime. Whether it’s TDD or refactoring, that’s part of me being professional. That’s all the biz should know

I’ve heard a couple of you are refactoring code without approval. Let’s be respectful to the business. Do not refactor unless we have business approval and we’ve moved a refactoring card into play on the board. #NotMyAgile

Don't let the developers fool you with their technical jargon. If they say, "refactor", it's code for "we got it wrong the first time". Find developers that don't refactor and you've found the true professionals. #NotMyAgile
