@DetroitGreenway I think we need something like automated traffic enforcement that would dedicated ticket funds to better street designs. Unless the city can grow its tax base quicker it seems a lot will stall.

@tedtansley It seems there just isn't a dedicated funding source now that the road bond and ARPA funds are spent.

@DetroitGreenway Is the drop connected mainly to tur ending of the ARPA funding or because city council is putting money to other things?

@tedtansley Biggest concern with the budget is the upcoming drop in streetscape funding. Think we'll need to push council members to add funds for specific roads (eg. Like W. Warren).

@DetroitGreenway Oh good. Hoping they show more of it off in the budget and through actions each year. Just feels like they keep saying these things and it is slow progress.

@DE_Gifford @MichiganDems Also, a serious conversation about roads must include talking about how overbuilt our road network is. We'll end up taxing ourselves to death if we don't look for ways to optimize the system.

@tedtansley @samueljrob Yeah, I gathered that much too. I'm interested in a fuller picture. Was he seen as too pragmatic, too centrist, distracted, aligned with another institution or interest, etc.? Or, has the caucus been dysfunctional and this is a symptom of that? Or, something else altogether?

Michigan House speaker Joe Tate wants to run for Detroit mayor. He met with local Dem leaders this week about a campaign. I’m told to expect an announcement after lame duck.

Idk if I'd vote for Tate. Was pretty disappointed with how he operated as house leader. Will have to see how a campaign shapes up.

What leads someone to think it is okay to litter their used diapers? Just found two full grocery bags of used diapers in my yard...like why? Do we not know what to do with our waste?? I see this all the time wile picking up litter.
