@ArchiefAlkmaar Ooit nog een 40GB Western Digital gekocht vroeg in die 2000’s bij Mycom Hoofddorp.

De keten van MyCom computerwinkels kennen veel mensen waarschijnlijk nog wel. Ooit waren er meer dan 40 van in Nederland, ook in Alkmaar, Heerhugowaard en Den Helder. MyCom bestaat nog wel als online winkel, maar die heeft niks meer te maken met de fysieke winkels die uiteindelijk allemaal in 2019 sloten. Toen ging de eigenaar 'Kijk Up' failliet. Eerder was in 2015 de MyCom keten ook al failliet gegaan. De eerste winkels verschenen in het straatbeeld rond 2000. Je kon daar je o.a. videokaarten, geluidskaarten, kabeltjes, speakers en zelfs complete computers van het MyCom eigenmerk kopen. En daarvan kregen wij toevallig laatst een model van in handen. Een Pentium 4 2,8 GHz, draaiende op Windows XP. Een mooi stukje lokale computerhistorie. En jij? Kwam jij ook wel eens bij MyCom? Of was het eerder bij Dixons, Dynabyte, Escom, AVC, Halco of een andere lokale 'computerboer'?

We weren’t going to take in any more rescues… our bills are already too high. But yesterday we went to check on a litter—and one had already died before we got there. We couldn’t walk away and leave the rest to die too.

When home feels claustrophobic, hit the gym.

There is a very really opportunity for someone to start a new version of Formula 1. Dump the woke, climate, and safety to the point of boredom nonsense. Bring back V10 or V12 engines, grid girls, and proper racing. Frankly a gold mine waiting to be tapped.
