@BradfemlyWalsh Is it my imagination or was lucozade with the celophane only sold in chemists?
English

@montie If he is indeed a "thoroughly good guy" he does an exceptional job of hiding it.
English

So pleased for Jonathan.
Thoroughly good guy.
The more people see real Reformers the more the nasty scaremongering of the kind set out by Wes Streeting yesterday will fall apart.
All we want is integration over immigration; climate policies that don't destroy what's left of UK manufacturing; freedom from suffocating EU regulations; fairness for workers not on welfare; and protection of children from woke ideologies.
Is that too much to ask?

I am deeply honoured to have been elected last night as the Leader of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. This is a new chapter for Newcastle-under-Lyme, and we are getting straight to work.

These messages were a conversation between my wife and I, 7 days after our 5-year-old son Hugh was diagnosed with cancer.
Tomorrow MPs draw names in the Private Members’ Bill ballot. One MP could decide that parents matter. One MP could decide that when a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, parents should not have to choose between being beside their child or protecting their job. One MP today could choose Hugh’s Law.
We were trying to hold ourselves together while our world collapsed around us. Yet somehow we still had to keep going.
I told him the chemotherapy hanging beside him was “little soldiers” fighting the nasty enemy inside his body. He looked at me and said, “Daddy, when they fight they hurt my tummy.” I told him we would fight. I told him we would smash it.
Behind those words was exhaustion, fear and two parents trying to hold themselves together while our world collapsed around us.
Then came the reality. Hospital corridors. Sleepless nights. Fear. Trying to stay strong for your child while physically and emotionally breaking, while somehow society expects parents to carry on as normal too. Go to work. Function. Perform.
There is no legal right to stop. No protected time. No recognition that parents are fighting too.
Tomorrow one MP could leave a legacy. For parents. For families. For Hugh.
MPs, if your name comes out tomorrow, please speak to us. Hugh’s law is ready to go. We need you!
Parents deserve better. 🤍🇬🇧

There are two types of people…

@MarinaPurkiss @JeremyVineOn5 Because it would be, yet another, long and incredibly destructive debate. We need to move as close as we can, while remaining seperate.

Former shadow chancellor @johnmcdonnellMP tells me on @TimesRadio that there needs to be a candidate from the left (Andy Burnham might not get their vote) & that whoever wins should readmit @jeremycorbyn to reunite the left & win back Green votes

@Lauren_83_ @Shellfromzero Is she the maroon or green half of Edinburgh?

Couldn’t be more bored of penalty chat now.
Let’s just go through there on Saturday and get this won @JamTarts
English

@TheNewsAgents If that happens, Labour are madder than I ever thought possible.
English

@LoftusSteve @jimthegiant Both Conservatives and Labour are totally delusional. Stop thinking so much about your own specific hobby horse and look for things there is some agreement on and start doing things, quickly, or you are both fucked.
English

Whats mental is if he just went, fuck it - rejoin EU, nationalise rail, nationalise water & do a wealth tax
He’d become a hero overnight

🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer is reportedly “weighing up his options” after multiple Cabinet Ministers told him to quit [@BethRigby]
English

More than 75 Labour MPs have called for Keir Starmer to resign as Prime Minister following the local elections.
(bbc.co.uk/news/live/c1e2…)

English

@SkyNews @Baddiel @cathynewman Christ almighty, the comments under this. Everyone has gone completely mad. Keir Starmer is an impressive man trying to do an almost impossible job. Social media is horrendous nowadays.
English

'It's a bit like what is happening in football - everyone hates them if they haven't had immense success within five games.'
@Baddiel tells Sky's @cathynewman that 'a normal bloke or woman that is ok to lead the country, is not good enough anymore' in today's culture.
English

@CumberdickB Probably, but didnt hear there prognostications unless you were actually listening to them in a pub.😬
