@MartinLukasMD @adcock_brett Wow! I can't see any practical use for those two, but it's amazing how far we've come with robotics :D Very smooth movements.

One way of thinking about these results — this is the widest diversity of complex tasks I’ve *ever* seen performed by *any* robot. Finally, something actually exceeds the ~2010 PR1 videos :) Also to clarify the video below is teleop, but they have autonomous results for a smaller set but still impressive mix of tasks. Amazing work @zipengfu @tonyzzhao @chelseabfinn
Zipeng Fu@zipengfu

Mobile ALOHA's hardware is very capable. We brought it home yesterday and tried more tasks! It can: - do laundry👔👖 - self-charge⚡️ - use a vacuum - water plants🌳 - load and unload a dishwasher - use a coffee machine☕️ - obtain drinks from the fridge and open a beer🍺 - open doors🚪 - play with pets🐱 - throw away trash - turn on/off a lamp💡 Project website: mobile-aloha.github.io Co-lead @tonyzzhao, advised by @chelseabfinn (amazing photographing from @qingqing_zhao_ )

@mrdoob better support for newer hardware, most companies write their drivers for windows, and put a tiny team on supporting linux half-heartedly.

RT-X: generalist AI models lead to 50% improvement over RT-1 and 3x improvement over RT-2, our previous best models. 🔥🥳🧵 Project website: robotics-transformer-x.github.io

That took a bit of fiddling! (Web version has no joystick support or persistent save data yet, but it's a start...)

Now running with buttery smooth 3800 fps. Still lot's of room for improvement, but I think I'll leave it at that.

@haqhuy’s new project: *Scaling up* robot data collection using LLM for ✅ task decomposition ✅ reward formulation *Distill down* into visuomotor policies that ✅ operate from raw sensory input ✅ improve overtime. Check out the engaging Q&A here 😉 cs.columbia.edu/~huy/scalingup/

How can we put robotics on the same scaling trend as large language models while not compromising on rich low-level manipulation and control?

We just released our work on robot soccer. I've been working on this for quite some time with my amazing colleagues at DeepMind. It's exciting how deep RL can produce such beautiful behaviors with low-cost robots. Full paper is available at arxiv.org/abs/2304.13653 Enjoy!

We built PaLM-E 🌴🤖 one of the largest multimodal language models to date, trained end-to-end on robot data. Images, text, state inputs, neural scene embeddings – you name it. And it's fantastic on robots. Check out Danny's thread 👇

What happens when we train the largest vision-language model and add in robot experiences? The result is PaLM-E 🌴🤖, a 562-billion parameter, general-purpose, embodied visual-language generalist - across robotics, vision, and language. Website: palm-e.github.io

Meta-question amid all the AI hype — let’s imagine you run a hardware business with a large potential software component. What’s going to change in the 2-3 year window that enables different near term prioritization?

them lying flat and they wouldn’t go anywhere in anything short of tornado winds. I started out with a SolArk 5k charger/inverter, but while it could run all the loads in the container, it would fail when an RV was also plugged in and tying to start the AC. Upgraded to a 12K. \

After years of thinking about it, I finally built a little off-grid solar system this year. I learned a lot. I made a clamp-on structure out of unistrut for 12 panels on a 40’ container, but the mounting structure cost about as much as the panels. I could have just left \
