@Udntnonutn It’s as though people are too stupid to realize this protects politicians, not voters. And they think it’s a win. As Tiberius said “how eager they are to be slaves”.

The Supreme Court is weighing whether to throw out ballots that were mailed on time but arrived late. Think about that. You did everything right. Your vote still doesn’t count? That’s not how a system works. That’s how a system chooses who counts.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! As many as 29 STATES may have their laws overturned after the Supreme Court indicated they will rule against allowing mail-in ballots to come in after Election Day This would be huge, and could be a 6-3 ruling 🔥 JUSTICE ALITO: "Independence DAY, birthDAY, and Election DAY. They are all particular DAYS. So if we start with that, if I have nothing more to look at than the phrase 'Election Day,' I think this is the DAY in which everything is going to take place." 🫳🎤

For shits and giggles, I decided to see just how hard it would be to replace my birth certificate, Social Security card, AND my marriage license, since Democrats think women are too stupid to figure it out. Here's how it went: 1. Birth certificate: Contacted the health department of the county where I was born. They OVERNIGHTED a certified copy to me the next day - total cost, $14. 2. SS Card: Contacted Social Security on their site. They asked if I was sure I needed the card, since I 'won't likely be asked for it.' I went ahead and got it - took five business days to arrive - total cost, $0. 3. Marriage License: Went to the 'vital docs' site of the county where we were hitched. Filled everything out online, arrived in three days - total cost, $5. It cost less than $20 to obtain all three certified/legal documents, and it took less than five business days to receive them. Note: if I had lived where I was born or married, it would have been a day. Tops. Anyone telling you this is too hard or unfair is lying and hiding the real reason they want to stop Voter ID. I know you guys knew that already... lol

@DoctorPerin People who aren’t in the room cannot fathom the array of things that come in. for some, they need to hear “I’m not your friend, but your friends aren’t therapists, and they are to polite to not listen. The are there for friendship, you should be enjoying it .bring shit here.

The two weirdest takes I hear about therapy is that it’s a religion and that it’s paid friendship. 1) I have a priest and my priest has a therapist, so I’m glad the people who actually do these jobs know the difference 2) Therapy would be a terrible way to treat a friend

I’m not going to be concerned with the outcome of the final game of a western road trip on a back to back. I didn’t expect them to win this at all so if they surprise, it’s found money.

@the_mel_jar I’ll go this far. If you don’t show up, I don’t care. If you show up, I’ll hep you. But I ain’t worried about people who don’t want to change what’s plain as day fucking thier lives up. I tell every single patient, at some point early, I don’t get paid to care more than you.

One reason why, in the Granta piece, we really must highlight the failure of the supervisor is because the therapist, despite everything, did something correct here. She took her case to supervision. The supervisor had an obligation to uphold something very serious, but didn’t.
Mel@the_mel_jar

@lessonlylove Yes, and even with awareness, it highlights our continued need for supervision for our ENTIRE professional career. We must do our own personal treatment, then we must continue with our supervision, no matter how long we have been practicing or how well things appear to be going.

@lessonlylove Transference is inevitable from the first moment of contact between therapist and patient, and it’s a vital part of one’s therapy. It’s how therapy works at all. Nothing needs to end with an erotic transference, or any other transference. But therapists need to understand it.

When the patient falls in love with their therapist or analyst, they fall in love with the illusion that comes with the role, not the "real" person. This is what transference is. The therapist or analyst should know this and not look to their patients for their gratification.

@JonathanShedler This is my problem with all this broad brush bullshit. I work anecdotally. One by one. And they are all different and are treated according to their stated needs and collaboratively agreed upon goal. There no extrapolation from the individual to a population.

We don’t treat populations, we treat the individual person in front of us. Sweeping statements about how we should or shouldn’t treat “pregnant women” (or any other population) are inconsistent with good clinical decision-making and good clinal care. That should be self-evident.
Prof. Peter C Gøtzsche@PGtzsche1

There is no serious danger of leaving depression in pregnant women untreated with antidepressants. Absolutely none. The clinical effect is far below what is clinically relevant and the drugs double suicides and have many other serious harms. It is naive to think that clinicians can weigh benefits and harms. If they did, no one would use antidepressants.
