The Ibérico pig spends its final months eating acorns.
Not as a boutique indulgence, but for ancient land management. The dehesa, the oak woodland savannah of southwestern Spain and Portugal, has been grazed by pigs for at least two thousand years. The pigs eat the acorns, the acorns are the seed crop of the cork and holm oaks, and the pig's rooting aerates the soil and suppresses scrub, keeping the woodland open and productive.
The fat that results from this acorn feeding is exceptionally high in oleic acid: the same monounsaturated fat that makes olive oil the darling of every cardiologist at a Mediterranean diet conference.
Jamón ibérico de bellota has a better fatty acid profile than most olive oil.
It also tastes like something carved from a particularly good dream.
The Spanish classified it as a health food. Then ate it. Then lived long lives. Nobody held a press conference.

Argentine President Javier Milei: “I thought being on the left was a mental problem. The empirical evidence is so overwhelming that it never worked anywhere, and they refused to accept it.
“But what I discovered is that being on the left is a disease of the soul. The left is built on envy, hatred, resentment, and unequal treatment under the law. They are very violent, and since they have no way or arguments to answer, they go for physical violence.”

When I am Premier, I will:
1. Bring a vote on the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism to the floor of the Legislative Assembly within the first 2 weeks of the next Legislative session – Either as the government or the Official Opposition.
2. Link Funding for BC Universities to Upholding the rights of their Jewish student body and all other religious groups acting peacefully. Require universities to enforce their code of conduct to protect students from bigotry and physical threats.
3. Immediately approve charges against Charlotte Kates and Samidoun as recommended by the Vancouver Police Department. Additionally, instruct the Attorney General to investigate other groups who have been actively partnering with Samidoun.
4. Adjust the mandatory Holocaust Education to be delivered in grade 8 and include an additional mandatory module about the evolution of antisemitism: From medieval to modern.
5. Provide additional funding to Jewish schools, places of worship and institutions to improve security, until the threat level comes down.
6. The creation of a Special Advisor on Jewish Community & Antisemitism.
7. Antisemitism training for law enforcement, politicians and public service employees.
8. Work with the Provincial Firearms Officer to ensure that licensed armed security can be employed to protect Jewish institutions.
Together, we will get BC back on track - conservativebc.ca/black/

Let's be clear about what the Ruminati are, because the name was chosen for us by a newsletter that meant it as a criticism and we kept it.
Gerald is a bull. He eats grass on land that has been permanent pasture since 1763. The grass converts sunlight and rain into protein. Gerald converts the grass into beef, manure, and seven wildflower species in a south corner that had none of them before he arrived. His methane is the carbon that was in the grass two weeks ago and will be back in the grass in twelve years. This has been the arrangement for the entirety of cattle domestication and the net carbon position of British permanent pasture over that period is: improving.
Doris is a ewe. She eats fell grass that grows on land too steep, too thin, too wet, and too acidic for any crop ever suggested by anyone who has actually looked at it. She maintains the open sward structure that forty-seven plant communities and three red-listed bird species depend on. Without her, the fell becomes purple moor grass. It has been tested. There is a control fell. The control fell has been ungrazed since 2004. The control fell has purple moor grass and no skylarks.
Keith is a goat. He eats the things Gerald and Doris won't touch: bramble, knotweed, dock, thistle, rush, ivy stems, and whatever is happening in Steve's garden. His rumen handles tannins and oxalates that would damage a dog's liver. He converts material that would otherwise advance unchecked across the British countryside into cheese, manure, and a net outcome column that has been positive on every row since entry seventeen.
They are not destroying the planet.
They are the planet.
This distinction has been available in every field in Britain since before the policy documents existed.
Nobody thought to look in the fields.
The fields are still there.

Here's how parliamentary motions became how Liberal governments sneak their agenda into force.

Could this be the next Prime Minister of Canada?
Recently, I’ve been finding myself up all night trying to figure out what the hell is going on in the world and if we're on the verge of World War III…
So, today I’m sitting down with Pierre Poilievre who is the leader of Canada's Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition. He became one of the youngest MPs elected to Canadian parliament and has spent 2 decades fighting for working class people and fair opportunities.
Pierre told me that he’s on a mission to make Canada the freest and most affordable place in the world, and he’s not stopping until that happens.
To give you more context on his background, Pierre was adopted at birth by two school teachers who struggled financially and ended up losing multiple homes which meant that they had to start again from nothing several times throughout his childhood.
That experience shaped what he believes about work, money, and fairness. When speaking about his parents, he told me that they taught him that it doesn’t matter where you come from. It matters what you do.
That belief is now at the centre of everything he’s trying to change.

🔥 BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR
Rare moment of truth at the UN from brave Kuwaiti dissident @JJJuraid, invited by UN Watch:
Mr. Chair,
I heard the term “colonizers.” But who are the real colonizers? A Jewish Kingdom ruled in Judea for a thousand years. We, the Arabs, took this land.
Who Arabized Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians and Amazighs? It was us, the Arabs.
So why does the council enshrine a lie by keeping a permanent agenda item on Palestine, while ignoring the indigenous heart of Israel returning home?
Let us be clear about who is actually defending our sovereignty. Today, Israel is a fighter for peaceful nations, freeing Gaza from Hamas and saving Iranians from the Islamic Republic.
What Israel is doing to the IRGC — stopping a genocidal regime from acquiring nuclear weapons — is a gift to humanity.
There are 57 Islamic countries and only one Jewish state, Israel. Despite the ongoing hateful desire to eliminate it, Israel has not only survived, it has thrived.
I don't believe in miracles, but this is one.
So I ask the UN: when will you end the ritual of condemning Israel?
Is it not time, instead, to learn from Israel? How to defeat terror, defend free societies, and pursue peace.
Thank you.

Here is what happens to a blade of grass whether or not a cow is present.
The grass grows. To grow, it pulls carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This carbon becomes the grass. The grass contains it. The sun drives this process. The rain enables it.
Now two scenarios.
Scenario one: no cow. The grass completes its growing season. It dies. It decomposes. Bacteria and fungi break down the organic matter. The carbon that was in the grass returns to the atmosphere as CO2. This takes weeks to months. The cycle is complete. Atmospheric carbon is unchanged.
Scenario two: cow present. The grass grows. The cow eats it. The cow's rumen ferments it. Methane is produced. The methane enters the atmosphere. Over the following ten to twelve years, atmospheric hydroxyl radicals oxidise the methane back into CO2. The CO2 is absorbed by the next season's grass.
The carbon goes: atmosphere → grass → cow → atmosphere → grass.
In scenario one: atmosphere → grass → atmosphere.
The destination is the same. The route is slightly longer in scenario two. The net atmospheric carbon at the end of each cycle is identical.
The cow did not add carbon to this system.
The carbon was already there.
It was in the grass.
It was going back to the atmosphere regardless.
The cow is not the source. The cow is a temporary stop on a journey that was happening with or without her.
This is the biogenic carbon cycle. It has a Wikipedia page. It is not obscure. It is simply inconvenient for the argument.

The skies are clearing.
In Iran, thousands of young men and women took to the streets in the biggest fight for freedom our generation has seen. Their brightest stars - Olympic athletes, talented musicians, artists who created despite the risk it carried to their survival - have been brutally executed by political Islam.
In Israel, thousands of young men and women survived the most brutal massacre against Jews in modern history. The Islamists targeted a music festival; they want to kill freedom, art, expression. These young men and women went to fight for their country’s protection in an army comprised of unparalleled intelligence and capacity.
In the West, all of these excellent and talented young men and women and everyone who supports them is bullied, harassed, assaulted and abused by the less talented, less curious, less original, less individual young men and women of supposed progressive societies. This contrast could not be more glaring or insulting to our collective intelligence.
These young Western men and women have exalted themselves by pushing others out. By theft. By pale impressions of those they replaced and cancelled. Their abuse hides in plain sight. The woman in Gracie Mansion with her homophobic and racist slurs, and a history of supporting plane hijackers and terrorists. The bullying of Jews at industry parties, mocking our trauma by calling us “Nazis”. The Australian humanitarians who cannot even hear their own chanting for death and destruction while spitting on the very meaning of being an advocate against abuse. The hatred they spread has no place in a civil society.
In Israel, in Iran, young men and women, gay, lesbian, trans Black, brown, Christian, Jewish, Muslim and otherwise are the targets of political Islam and fight on to secure their freedom.
In the West, talentless clowns spread homophobia, racism and hate, taking all their freedoms for granted. What is their artistic contribution in this process? What is their sporting excellence? What is the idea they put out that will be talked about decades from now?
Soon they will be broke and irrelevant. To cancel them would require reminding everyone who they even are, and still most would scratch their heads. Who? Who?
The age of the West’s bullying narcissist is coming to a screeching halt. We see who you are. We always did. Water seeks its own level. But many of us are above it and we want to evolve, not regress. We hope you enjoyed your 15 minutes of nonsense.

A tale of two Iranians
1. - A 19 yr old national champion wrestler. Executed today for the crime of marching with 30,000 other murdered young people who just wanted freedom. Canada said nothing.
- A Shia cleric of that Islamo-fascist regime. Just given Canadian citizenship. Marching in support of the regime at an al quds parade in Toronto in his first week in Canada.
If there’s a way for Canada to be on the wrong side of history, this is it.
Thx to @AlinejadMasih for keeping everyone informed. Here’s to a free Iran.

A film crew arrived on Tuesday with a drone, a budget, and a 4,000-word researcher's brief about the environmental damage caused by British beef farming.
What they found was Gerald.
Gerald was in the south corner.
9:30am - The drone went up. Gerald watched the drone for approximately three seconds, concluded it wasn't interesting, and went back to grazing. Thirty seconds of footage: bull, ignoring drone, eating grass. Not the footage.
11:00am - The researcher asked the farmer about Gerald's methane output. The farmer explained the biogenic cycle. The researcher said that wasn't in her brief. The farmer said it was in the peer-reviewed literature. The brief did not contain the peer-reviewed literature.
12:30pm - The cameraman asked if Gerald could do something. The farmer: "Like what?" The cameraman: "Something more active." Gerald lay down in the south corner. Gerald had been awake since 5am and had grazed eleven acres. Gerald found the cameraman's schedule irrelevant.
1:00pm - The producer walked the south corner with an ecologist who was there on a separate Natural England survey. The ecologist pointed out the seven wildflower species. The Bombus humilis. The dung beetle activity. The lapwing pair.
The producer: "Is this because of the cow?"
Ecologist: "Yes."
Producer: "Can we use that?"
Ecologist: "You're making a film about Gerald being a problem."
Producer: "...Can we use it anyway?"
4:00pm - They left.
The documentary has a two-star rating on streaming.
The south corner has a UK priority bee species.
Gerald is in the south corner.
Gerald has not seen the documentary.
Gerald does not have a streaming subscription.

“Canada’s process for approving energy infrastructure projects is still far too slow.” – CEO of TC Energy
Imagine the impact if Canada had approved and built Keystone XL, Energy East, Northern Gateway, Teck Frontier, Pacific NorthWest LNG, Aurora LNG, and Prince Rupert LNG.
Instead, these projects were cancelled or abandoned. Keystone XL terminated June 2021. Energy East cancelled 2017. Northern Gateway permits revoked 2016. Teck Frontier withdrawn 2020. Pacific NorthWest LNG cancelled 2017. Aurora LNG cancelled 2017. Prince Rupert LNG cancelled 2017.
Since 2015, Canada has seen $670 billion in cancelled or suspended natural resource projects, a direct squandering of our country’s potential. Alberta’s oil sands alone hold 158.9 billion barrels of proven reserves, the fourth largest in the world.
The numbers are staggering. Northern Gateway could have added $312 billion to the economy and created hundreds of thousands of jobs through 2048. Energy East could have added $35 billion over 20 years. Broader LNG development could add $11 billion per year. Northern Gateway, Energy East, and Keystone XL would have grown Canada’s economy by $55 billion.
Nothing is stopping this from becoming reality except Liberals who refuse to act.
Energy security is national security. It’s time to build.
