📍Thembalethu, George - what a way to end the day! Tonight’s walkabout brought together everyone who plays a role in keeping this community safe - Neighbourhood Watch, SAPS, and the Municipality. Safer communities are built together.💙 And when people feel safe, communities thrive - businesses grow, dignity is restored, and jobs follow. #ForYou #GettingItDone

🚧 Today I visited Meiringspoort with Garden Route District Municipality Executive Mayor, Ald. Marais Kruger, to assess the damage caused by the recent floods. The extent of the damage is significant, and substantial reconstruction work lies ahead. Our teams continue working to restore this critical route safely and as quickly as possible. #Meiringspoort #FloodRecovery #GettingItDone #WesternCape @WesternCapeGov @DWS_RSA @environmentza @SALGA_Gov

⛔️ Western Cape Cabinet Condemns Xenophobic Attacks ⛔️ I, and every single member of cabinet, condemn, in the strongest possible terms, all acts of violence, intimidation, or lawlessness against foreign nationals. The xenophobic attacks were top of the agenda at today’s extended cabinet meeting where we were briefed by SAPS leadership. Mediators have been deployed, SAPS is conducting operations, and I have offered all available provincial resources to prevent further violence. South Africa is a constitutional democracy. Frustrations about immigration policy must be addressed through lawful processes, not through violence. Those responsible for criminal acts will face the full consequences of the law. 👉Read the full statement: westerncape.gov.za/department-pre…

Eyes in the sky over Somerset West today. The WCG is prioritising scholar transport safety using cutting-edge technology. I visited a vehicle checkpoint where drones were used to monitor vehicles for compliance. The safety of our learners is not negotiable. We will catch you!
