Dear Iranians, It has happened now. The European Union has added the IRGC to its terrorist list. This marks a historic step. This decision is more than symbolic as terrorist designation carries concrete legal consequences. It is a clear demonstration of how hard work pays off. This happened because we kept pushing publicly and relentlessly until denial was no longer possible. Even though this took an unforgivably long time, required mass suffering from the brave Iranians, blood on the streets, and undeniable brutality, it is now a first step towards free and secular Iran. The lesson of this is that never stop pushing, never soften the truth and never let moral clarity be negotiated away. History will remember freedom fighters. Let’s keep fighting!

After so many years of demanding, pressuring, fighting, finally, they all joined our call to list #IRGC as a terrorist organisation. But why did so many people have to die before we got there? My thoughts are with the victims of IRGC. My hopes are for a free #Iran.

📺 The BBC cancelled almost all TV and radio interviews on #Iran's internet blackout they'd scheduled or suggested changing topic to other outages. With huge respect to BBC journos, this wastes human rights monitors' time, hasn't happened in past crises, and needs investigation.

Nothing on @BBCNews about #IranMassacre - not one article. If I’m being kind it might be because the general population of Britain can’t quite believe there is now overwhelming evidence that so called “security forces” in another country are exterminating their citizens by the thousands mostly shooting them in the head at point blank range for peaceful protest when in Britain you can’t get the police to come out if you’ve had your car stolen. bbc.co.uk/news

I am shocked to my core that the terrorist organisation IRGC has an extended arm inside the European Parliament. They have politicians who are actively working against the brave Iranian people who are being executed on the streets. By reading the amendments proposed for addition to the Iran resolution, it becomes clear who is standing on the enemy’s side. Let’s call them out: The Left. As the ECR’s chief negotiator on the Iran resolution, I witnessed firsthand the terrible proposals they put forward behind closed doors during the negotiations. When we rejected these proposals, they chose to withdraw from the negotiated outcome of the resolution. Yet despite excluding themselves from the resolution, they later attempted to undermine it by submitting their own amendments listed at the end of this post. The Left acts like a wolf in sheep’s clothing: they tried to infiltrate the resolution with language that may sound good to naïve citizens, but would in fact completely weaken the Iranian people’s ability to bring down the regime. They tried to strip away sanctions and prevent military action against the IRGC. Everyone needs to know this. Share this information with your Iranian friends. If they vote for leftist politicians, they are digging their own grave. That must not be allowed to happen. The Left is not only disgraceful, but dangerous. All of the leftist amendments (AMs) listed below were voted down this week by other political groups in the European Parliament. Read 👇 AM 6 (LEFT) Considers that broad-based economic and financial sanctions against Iran are counterproductive, as they disproportionately harm the civilian population, worsen access to essential goods and medicines, and can be instrumentalised by the authorities to entrench repression and silence dissent; calls instead for the reinforcement of EU targeted restrictive measures under the EU’s human rights sanctions framework – notably asset freezes and travel bans – against security force officials involved in the use of lethal force and the repression of demonstrations, judicial officials associated with arbitrary arrests and summary trials, decision-makers and executors of internet shutdowns and surveillance as well as all officials from public media and structures involved in broadcasting forced ‘confessions’; AM 8 (LEFT) Strongly condemns the repression by the Iranian authorities of the street protests of January 2026, which has resulted in numerous casualties and widespread arbitrary detentions; urges the Iranian Government to immediately cease all violence and engage in genuine dialogue to address the legitimate grievances of its people; calls for all the EU institutions to fully respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law; strongly condemns any threat or use of military force against Iran, as well as any external attempt at destabilisation or interference in Iran’s internal affairs; AM 9 (LEFT) Calls for the EU institutions to exert diplomatic pressure on the United States and Israel to refrain from issuing or supporting military threats against Iran, and to give a commitment to de-escalation, dialogue and full respect for international law; AM 12 (LEFT) Opposes attempts, notably by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to instrumentalise or hijack the legitimate demands and anger of the Iranian people; AM 13 (LEFT) Reiterates the principle of non-intervention and the prohibition of the threat or use of force under international law; calls on all external actors, in particular the United States and Israel, to refrain from actions or statements that constitute interference and to instead support accountability for human rights violations through multilateral UN-based mechanisms; (Three more amendments below on the next tweet👇)

On 20 January the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed written by an Iranian politician promoting the Islamic Republic's viewpoint. Today, we wrote a letter to the Journal's editorial team requesting that they qualify the article, explaining how it was submitted for publication (particularly whether the Internet was used) and also highlighting that the Iranian public are denied the opportunity to express their opposing viewpoints due to the ongoing internet blackout.

The Wall Street Journal opinion page has printed an op-ed by the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran about the recent protests (as part of the ongoing revolution) and the massacre carried out by the Islamic Republic. It is disgraceful. First — it contradicts the WSJ’s own excellent reporting on the regime’s crackdown. Second, you don’t need to give opinion space to an official from an openly authoritarian regime to spread lies. Third, failing to fact-check his claims or add a fact-check window beneath his absolute lies is disgraceful. The op-ed is FILLED with unquestionable lies and atrocity denial. I have included all of it in this post so that they don’t get traffic for it.

Let me ask you a simple question: Where is the international law when people are killed in the streets in Iran? Where are the feminists supporting women’s rights against Islamist oppression? Where are the so-called Pro-Palestine activists demanding justice for the Iranian civilians who are currently being mass-executed in broad daylight? Right. Their hypocrisy is unbelievable. This is the history of the left. When human rights abuses do not fit their ideology, they are ignored. When the victims do not serve a political narrative, they are abandoned. The EU – it's time to act. Let's give the Iranian’s what they want and deserve. Let's invite Mr. @PahlaviReza to address the European Parliament – a unifying leader willing to transition the regime into a secular democracy.

There is growing discussion that Iran’s regime may have used chemical agents against protesters, after footage showed security forces in Sabzevar wearing protective gear linked to chemical exposure. One protester said: “More than a week after being hit by tear gas at the Niavaran protests, my body still hasn’t returned to normal. My blood pressure and heart rate remain high, with stomach pain, headaches, and dizziness. A doctor at the Niavaran clinic said many patients have similar symptoms that appeared to have been caused by chemical substances fired under the name of tear gas.” Via @SharifiZarchi

I have been told that Crown Prince @PahlaviReza cannot be invited to speak at the European Parliament because it would be seen as an expression of support for monarchy. But who is being invited as the keynote speaker for next week’s plenary session in Strasbourg? The King of Spain. This is how the EU celebrates Spain’s 40 years of membership. Instead of celebrations, I believe it would be more important to help the Iranian people, who are currently being executed en masse. And this is why Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, who has lived in exile for 47 years, should be given the floor.

Iran is not a talking point. It is not a “counter-narrative.” It is not a chess piece in your anti-Western worldview. A part of the left has decided that as long as a group or a regime is anti-West, its crimes and atrocities don’t count. That logic has led them to excuse Hamas and whitewash the Islamic Republic of Iran. You cannot claim to stand for liberation while defending organizations that murder civilians, suppress women, torture dissidents, and rule through fear. That isn’t solidarity, it’s moral collapse. If your compassion switches off when the victims don’t fit your narrative, then you’re not defending justice. You’re defending power, just like the right wing that you’re so much against but with different slogans. Iran is not your narrative. Iran is a nation of people who deserve freedom, dignity, justice, and truth. #FreeIran #IranProtests2026
