Most people are still missing some subtleties... and losing the context. The images I shared this morning are now making the rounds, but as I said, they do not invalidate the discovery. Pay attention to the structure shown in the smaller circle - line it up - and it's right on top of the shafts Filippo showed. There was something there, before 1929. Additional context for this image was offered from Manu Seyfzadeh, who originally gave it to me, and should be credited for finding it, FYI. He said: “Source: Eduard Spelterini (1852-1931) from a balloon sometime before 1910. Looking approx. west-northwest. swissinfo.ch/eng/culture/ed…. The reason why you don't yet see the mount is that excavations by Steindorff, Reisner, and Junker had only begun in 1903 and were focused on the main nucleus cemeteries in the West Field. Later, in the 1930s you see the mount. But even in the earlier photo by Junker, you can see debris mounts that look just like the proposed second sphinx to the north of the West Field.” I've lined it up perfectly here, and you can see clearly that the deepest shaft is directly below a structure that could very well be ruins of a Sphinx or temple. @StKFootball It's not media heat. It was plain to everyone at the time that the Saints were overpaying for B graders at best. They did the exact same thing with Hannebery and others and look where that got you. History sadly repeating again

The problem with overpaying for players (trade or salary) is the added media heat that comes with it. The heat on Flanders is unjustified and I hope everyone backs off. He’ll be fine! But the price we paid is *why* it is attracting scrutiny. That’s more on Gubby than Flanders.
