@kwiledirects @lachamade i was able to get it to work using this setup, but if you notice on the last line i hardcoded /75 by eyeballing what i thought looked good. Not sure how to actually calculate that number based on fontSize, layer width, etc.

@lachamade I’d love to see more about how you’ve set this up under the hood. For example, you’re linking sourceText to the path length property, but I’d love to know what logic you’ve implemented to determine which characters get duplicated to fill the space when the path stretches, etc.

Triggering text animation properties with bezier curves in After Effects opens up a playful way to manipulate text. In this setup, the only keyframes are for animating the path itself, while the path's length drives everything else. #AfterEffects #Animation #MotionDesign

ICYMI: CC Composite can finally composite other layers now apparently. I just discovered this when I swapped something and nothing came in that Top Layer was set to the wrong layer. This is something new for After Effects 2024 as far as I can tell because it's not in 2023.

I'm continually amazed by the intricate motion achievable through manipulating distances between points on a path. Each point's position introduces a new layer of complexity to the animation. #AfterEffects!

@ae_screens @LottieFiles ya i was trying to make an upgraded text to shapes button where it would still separate the chars into shapes but put keyframes on every char mimicking the original text animation.
