The standard is the standard. 10 years ago, strikes and feel were qualifiers and velocity was the separator. Now, velocity is the qualifier while strikes, feel, and optimizing shapes are separators. Get strong, move fast, and know what expectations are to get in the door.

At @BaseballAmerica we have tracked MiLB 100+ mph pitchers for more than a decade. Last year we saw 90 MiLB pitchers touch 100, which was the most we'd seen. This year it was 140. Between the majors and minors, we tracked 192 100+ mph pitchers. baseballamerica.com/stories/how-ma…

@coachblanc Rob, this may be your best work yet. Incredible detail and insight. Too often we view ‘stuff’ in a vacuum and look to optimize shapes and chase usages without giving thought to any sort of downstream effects.

We have so much to catch up on. I quit my job, moved to Europe, grew my hair out, got engaged. Ate fresh pasta and seafood for days, swam in the sea, almost never watched baseball. What else?

Totally on board here. Credit to @CoachEricNewman for instilling this type of throwing when he arrived at Nebraska my senior year. The ability to throw long distances with submaximal effort (“massage throwing” in this case) allowed for a multitude of positives during my career.

After 35 years of training & developing arms, starting to believe, more than ever, that... Low Intent, Volume Throwing ("Massage Throwing") is the FOUNDATION to building Health, Strength, Endurance, Recovery, Feel, Accuracy & Life in the arm. Demo: youtube.com/watch?v=Ezkrz6…

I would strongly encourage anyone who is an athlete (at any level) or works with athletes (at any level) to tune in to @DrAndyGalpin. He has totally changed my perspective about a multitude of things pertaining to what it takes to perform at a high level on the field of play.
Andy Galpin, PhD@DrAndyGalpin

One week from today—on Wednesday, June 12—we are releasing the first episode of my podcast, “Perform with Dr. Andy Galpin.” The show is a continuation of what I’ve been doing for the last 20 years in the lab, classroom, media, and coaching floor. As always, my goal is to create and share information that helps people PERFORM at their best – whatever that means for them. This podcast is years in the making, literally, so it’s surreal even to be typing these words. The format is a little different because putting out a new show every week for a year or more is not feasible or of interest to me at this time. Given that, Season 1 will have 10 episodes, with one airing every Wednesday for 10 straight weeks. I’ll cover everything from how to build strength and why it is so vital to long-term health, to why we breathe, to the power of sleep extension, to genetic testing for personalized training and exercise, to nutrition for injury recovery. A sincere thank you to everyone involved in Season One: @scicomm (@hubermanlab, @R_Mohr, @chrisrayfilms, @blabacphoto, @ianmackey, @MartinFobes), Dr. Vince Kreipke, Dan Garner, Joel Jamison, @MashElite, and everyone whose papers and research I read and learned from. I can’t thank you all enough for all the support and love over the years, and I hope this show brings you as much joy as it brought me in making it. I’ll see everyone next week on YouTube and all the standard podcast platforms.
