Maybe this is only interesting for writers... But HBO renewed it for season 2 in August 2021. That means they put the whole thing together in a year? So Mike White wrote 6 hour-long scripts in like 6 months? And directed them all? And they're this good? How?

Thanks @Reinelaitiere! I know I'm biased, but she is indeed my personal hero. Working with people like Ella Baker and Mary Church Terrell, she was a brilliant movement builder. And her motto, "It takes a spectrum" is one that all Progressive activists can live by.

Inflation woes, panic @ the pump, foreign wars, dissensus among progressive movements, environmental crises, a sense that the good days had come and gone - the late 1970s were a helluva time to be born into a tradition of revolutionary struggle. #MotherCountryRadicals @ZaydDohrn

Chapter 8 features cameos from Mark Felt (AKA "Deep Throat"), @jeffjones23jeff, @EsteinEleanor, and my fellow Weather Kid @ThaiJones, who also happens to the historian on #MotherCountryRadicals Here's Thai with his dad. And me with my mom, while we were all underground:

Interesting piece. It's worth recalling that the lies spouted (and believed) by the Jan. 6 insurrectionists are about their fears of losing white power to the rise of a pluralistic anti-authoritarian truly democratic polity.

I have a piece in The Guardian today, about lessons we can learn from the left-wing underground in today's era of right-wing extremism (hint: the two things are not the same) theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2…

Surprised? Why?!? The American public has an insatiable appetite for narrative nuance, complex character development, and critical self-reflection on historical injustices. Congrats to @ZaydDohrn @dustlight_co @CrookedMedia and the whole Mother Country Radicals team!

I don't know what is happening... But apparently #MotherCountryRadicals is one of the Top 10 podcasts in the country right now. Thanks to everyone listening (episode 7 out today!)

@jkuszai Hey @jkuszai , as a Mets fan and co-writer of this podcast I urge you to give it a listen. Whether or not they actually were "at war" with the government, J. Edgar Hoover and Richard Nixon sure took them seriously as a security threat. @ZaydDohrn @Mets #BeattheCubs!

The podcast looks again at 60s militancy from the experiences and lessons of today's movements -- especially the fight against racialized policing. Historians will find new insights and perspectives here. @The_OAH @AHAhistorians @ZaydDohrn @CUHistoryDept

Mother Country Radicals, narrative podcast reexamining interconnected histories of white & Black 60s militants, dropped first 3 episodes. @thai_jones helped to write this, served as historian, & mined a vast range of archival sources for historical audio ow.ly/L6Ex50Jx1K4

Stumbled upon this destruction along the Chicago lakefront path while on a photo shoot South of the 49th Street Beach. 🤯All caused by high Lake Michigan levels, wind and big waves.
