Took Mom there to get peace when she became disabled.

Being right in the middle of a city and feeling like you aren’t in a city at the same time is a special thing. @TheJMULL_ You will get an upgraded golf course, there is ample of biking still available and by the water in DC, plenty of fishing because the river will remain. Better days are ahead and a world class golf course that property deserves is coming

east potomac park is very underutilized: ~235 acres out of the ~330 acres, ~70%, is for golf and parking.
trump plans to make ~70% —> 100%.
instead we should dedicate 100% as a truly public park, not golf. (and add a bike/pedestrian bridge)

East Potomac Park is great. Take bikeshare down, hit a bucket of balls at the driving range—it doesn’t matter if you know what you’re doing. Then get a pitcher of beer at the snack bar and try to spot some foxes running across the course as dusk settles in. Perfect.

I find the disruption to access here personally annoying but ultimately, DC does not need *three* crappy cheap golf courses within its borders. The one with the best location -- East Potomac -- should be a legitimately nice public course (note by the way that greens fees for Bethpage Black for NY residents are only like 60 bucks -- expectation should be same here), and let the other two remain muni-junk level.

NEWS: East Potomac Golf is expected to shut down on Sunday after the last tee time as the Trump administration officially takes it over. Renovations will start at a later date once compliance has been met. Tom Fazio expected to lead the renovation. Jim Acosta came down to the National Mall to see if the National parks Department was really painting the reflecting pool blue and they were and it literally is going to look like a cheap Hotel pool now which is so sad! They used American flag blue which is a bright blue. 🙈
