You need to have a “third place”, outside of your home, office/school… a third place you go regularly and meet people. This is where you get community, make friends, etc. and capitalism has taken this from us. Because now you can’t go anywhere without having to spend money.

@aravind The big beautiful bill has made tax changes that directly penalize companies to hire outside of US and give tax cuts for hiring in US. If TCS Infosys Cognizant Wipro haven’t seen that yet theyre in for a rough 2026

Trump will soon hit India’s IT industry. May be with duties, fines, and/or visa restrictions etc. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant must brace for it. However, it is the employees of these IT companies, which have billions of dollars in cash but never invest in innovation and quality products, are likely to suffer the most. These companies will likely resort to layoffs in India and reduced pays to “save money.” In essence, these companies are indirectly working for the US to harm India’s economy and government. This is what Trump would want them to do by hitting them to attack Modi. It is crucial that the GoI takes these companies to task if they behave in this manner. The GoI should force these companies to use their idle cash to invest in startup funds, conduct research at universities, or develop new products to compete with American products. I hope that the Trump tariff war will help our Indian IT companies change their useless behavior and prepare to compete with US tech giants. This will not only benefit India but also foster its growth in tech self-reliance.

Seven teachers at Oak Street Elementary School in Kansas were pregnant at the same time. They posed for a photo to highlight the humanity of their unborn children. Culture is shifting. America is becoming pro-baby again.

@MackenMurphy GenZ is not ready to accept that they can’t just marry rich by wearing “old money aesthetic” and trying to get into venues and events they can’t afford or aren’t invited to.

The richer a man is, the less likely he is to marry a significantly younger woman. Important to share, as this fact cuts against a lot of the inventive narratives about the mating market you will read on here.

The phrase “I just don’t feel that spark” may be less about the other person—and more about the fact that your ability to feel that spark has weakened. What if the spark isn’t gone—just harder to light?

@ENBrown I’ve seen this pattern where women won’t move cities for love, but would move for a job. And then claim love is hard to find. People are addicted to the butterflies in the stomach of early dating. They find reliability & stability boring now.

Sometimes I feel like the only one who doesn't buy it when someone says they're single b/c men are turned off by their ambition, smarts, career, etc. Not saying it never happens, but in, like, 97% of cases that feels like a cope

American women have never been this resigned to staying single. The challenges of finding a romantic partner have been made more complicated by a growing divide in education and career prospects between men and women. 🔗 Read more: on.wsj.com/448WoC4

@tomri33le @robkhenderson This! The most “compassionate humanitarian” people are usually the most evil and corrupt. See how california politicians pretend to be compassionate about homeless people while theyre stealing billions in tax payer funds for housing.

@davidu Seen women leave good men who move cities—won’t relocate for love, but will for a job. Then post “adventurous” vibes online while melting down over minor inconveniences.

My short take is that people who want to get married, get married. My longer take is: Many of my single friends (mostly the women) have a hard time differentiating between filtering criteria and selection criteria. It's important to SELECT for values / goals / competency, etc. It's fine to FILTER for income / looks / etc. at the top of the funnel but SELECTING on those things is risky. If you aren't getting what you want, you can adjust and widen your filters but not compromise on selection. A lot of people don't understand the difference between filtering and selecting.

@davidu So well put! Selection criteria vs filtering criteria in dating. They need to be different but too many people are confusing the two
