Rules don't matter if the consequences of breaking them aren't more costly than the advantage gained.

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap The Athletic reporting says he expected a renewal to be discussed when he became vice captain, the club left it until later 🤡 You're acting as if this is a one off when we had 3 key players in the last year of their contract up until about 6 weeks ago.

@that_flojo @TheAnfieldWrap "He didn't run his contract down" this is contrary to every single report that has come out, particularly from the reliable Athletic. Not sure why you've said this. Respectful? He's Vice Captain, and he's ignored media responsibilities for over a year because of the move. 🤣🤣🤣

I can relax now Rio Ferdinand has had his take on the situation
Rio Ferdinand@rioferdy5

I can’t believe @LFC fans booing one of their own 🤯 I understand that some of you guys are not happy with his decision etc BUT to boo @TrentAA after he has won the lot with you is baffling! Didn’t cost you a penny

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap I've addressed everything you've said. He didn't run his contract down, the club do it routinely as proved by Salah and VVD. He's been respectful throughout and never said anything out of turn. So what else makes up the totality of the situation?

@that_flojo @TheAnfieldWrap Again, the TOTALITY of the situation you've yet to address. Nothing about his behaviour has warranted a warm send-off, expecting one is far more entitled than supporters vocalizing their feelings. 👍

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap You've already said him leaving for a European rival warrants the reaction he got, so you've already made it clear that him deciding to leave whilst he's good enough to play for a top team is the real problem here. It's an insane level of entitlement.

@that_flojo @TheAnfieldWrap You think Gini is relevant here when we were prepared to make Trent the highest paid RB in the world? Gini got incredible wages with PSG we were never matching. Again, these are all individual scenarios that have very little to nothing in common with Trent’s situation.

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap The point I'm making is the club have been willing to have a stand off with players when it comes to running contracts down. In most cases it worked in their favour and in this instance it didn't. Additionally players are allowed to leave when it's most convenient for them.

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap Yes I remember them all, the Gini one in particular. Gave his all every week, model pro, integral to the team. Ended up the lowest paid midfielder in the squad bar Curtis before he left despite the fact he played more than anyone. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

@that_flojo @TheAnfieldWrap And it’s perfectly reasonable to be slighted by that considering, again, he is joining DIRECT OPPOSITION. We WILL be playing Madrid, he IS a rival now. The contracts you’ve lumped together there are completely different situations individually btw.

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap Of course he's joining opposition, he's an elite footballer. You're indirectly saying that unless he's joining someone crap that doesn't compete with us, it's fair game to give him stick and the only way that would happen is if he was over the hill. Insane level of entitlement.

@IdeaForming @TheAnfieldWrap It's perfectly reasonable to change your mind and want a new experience having won everything at your boyhood club. The club run players contracts down as a strategy, we've seen that with Mo, VVD, Gini, Firmino, Can, Keita etc. It just didn't work in their favour this time.

@that_flojo @TheAnfieldWrap It's completely reasonable to boo someone who lied about wanting to be our captain, about it meaning more here, to then to go and run down his contract with the explicit intention of joining a European rival we are constantly up against in the UCL. 👍

@TruthSeek3r84 @TheRedmenTV No, I make it sound as if he's well within his rights to leave the club when it's most convenient for him rather than when the club decides.

@aiamamemon @TheRedmenTV I don't care how long he's been planning it, the club have let players contracts run down to their benefit (e.g. Gini), players are absolutely within their rights to do the same. What's good for the goose...

@tf_politics The party should be looking inwards but the infantilisation of the electorate is a big problem. People made an informed decision to elect Trump after everything he's done and they bear a large part of the responsibility for what comes next.

"I just can't believe...." "How could....?" "We did everything right but the electorate wasn't good enough for us." These attitudes out of the mouths of US liberals and their UK backers demonstrate why Trump won. Understand and learn and never blame the electorate.

@PeterMcCormack @campbellclaret The richest man on the planet who spent $100 million on a campaign after spending $44 billion on a platform to turn it into a propaganda tool is part of the global elite. It's mind boggling anyone would argue otherwise.

The ten richest people in the US added $64billion to their wealth on the back of Trump win and Mogg continues to pretend people like him are on the side of the people against the elite. Same trick with Brexit after which of course he shipped his cash to 🇮🇪
Jacob Rees-Mogg@Jacob_Rees_Mogg

Donald Trump's victory is a crushing defeat for the global elite and should be celebrated. Read more in my weekly article: letters.jacobreesmogg.com/p/a-victory-fo…

@that_flojo @EuropeanPowell From the party that promised $2000 covid relief but paid $1400 From the party that offered $720 storm relief people without electricity or internet had to apply for online & to produce receipts as if theyd survive the storm, which turned out to be a loan, then went on holiday
