It means that streets (including sidewalks) are where the civic life of a city happens and they should reflect that. Should there be space for cars, of course... but there should also be lots of space for pedestrians, bikes and other forms of transportation.

I will never understand the "streets are for people" BS. The streets are for vehicles. I mean, be creative. Lobby for public atriums in new buildings, rooftop parks, upgrades to existing ones. This stick some tables and chairs on asphalt b/c you hate cars thing is so transparent.

These two short extensions would bring the subway to hundreds of thousands of South Brooklyn residents and would be built under (or over) wide avenues that feature (relatively) low concentrations of complex underground utilities.

If Nebraska Rs switch the state to winner-take-all, and it’s too late for Maine to do the same, the impact could be enormous. Namely, WI-MI-PA would no longer be enough to get Harris to 270. She’d need at least one more swing state (NV, GA, AZ, or NC) to get over the line

The American people are not losing faith in our judicial system. Trump loyalists are attempting to sow seeds of doubt for a political end, just as they tried to undermine our election systems after the 2020 and 2022 elections. Nobody is above the law.

Given the political-motivation behind it, the outcome of this trial was never truly in doubt. In Arizona, the voters I talk to every day — Republican, Democrat and Independent — aren’t interested in these games. This is exactly why the American public is losing faith in our judicial system. People want a government that protects them, is accountable and is transparent. But that is not what we saw today.
