American says we need to “rethink how we classify how we view violence”
“The city councilman member in Indiana who approved the data center after everybody in the neighborhood said that they did not want a data center in their neighborhood. He ended up getting his house sprayed up and somebody left a note saying, no data centers. I feel sorry that his son was there, but I don't feel sorry for what happened.
He doesn't view putting a data center in somebody's neighborhood, polluting their air, making their water toxic, running up their electricity bill, shortening their life expectancy. He doesn't view any of that as violence. That is exactly what that is. That is violence.
People really need to reclassify the way that they view violence. Most violence in America is enacted by people in suits and the violence that you see on the local news of somebody waving something around in the air and bullets flying, that is a violent reaction to other people's actions. Then he proceeds to say that we can't normalize this type of violence, but what he did was normalized violence.
I don't feel bad for him because he literally got a violent reaction from the violence that he was trying to inflict on an entire neighborhood.”

They’re rushing to build AI Data Centers here in Kentucky and across the U.S.
They frame it as an “investment” into our communities.
They make money hand over fist, and we get skyrocketing utility bills, polluted drinking water, and dried up natural resources. Families are even getting pushed out of their homes for these big money projects.
AI must work for working people, not be another tool to exploit and screw us over.
The people are pushing back. Enough is enough.
Elon Musk and his billionaire boys club are on notice. We are going to flip this Senate seat and stand up for working people!

I'm not saying what this guy did was right - I'm just statistically pointing out that the company leasing this warehouse, Kimberly-Clark, has a CEO named Michael D. Hsu that made $16.4 million dollars last year.
That is $7,884.62 an hour.
Food for thought.

A worker in Ontario, California sets his company’s warehouse on fire and has a message for the CEO: “There goes your inventory. All you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live.” Expect to see more of this as people struggle to survive under our decaying capitalist system.

99% of memecoins are cooked but those that get listed as ETFs and pass the clarity act will survive the long game.

🚨 do you understand what $25 billion in Mississippi actually means..
the poorest state in America.. $44,966 median income.. 28% of children in poverty.. and Amazon just chose it for data centers..
$25 billion for 2,000 jobs.. that's $12.5 million per job..
they didn't pick Mississippi to help Mississippi.. they picked it for the cheapest land.. cheapest power.. and the most desperate politicians willing to sign whatever Amazon put in front of them..
cotton plantations came for the cheap labor.. factories moved south for the no unions.. now data centers are coming for the cheap electricity and the tax breaks..
the product changes every generation.. the extraction doesn't

As a Black man working every day to build a New Black South, I understand why the people of Memphis felt slighted by recent comments from athletes.
What we’re seeing in Memphis isn’t unique. It’s the same reality in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Atlanta, Jackson, Houston—and places folks don’t always name like Montgomery, St. Louis, Shreveport, and many more.
Too often, majority-Black cities in the South are being undermined by Republican leadership at the state level. That’s not opinion—that’s pattern.
And if you’re not willing to invest in the Deep South, it doesn’t help to discourage others from investing in our communities either. That needs to be said plainly.
Entertainers and athletes have the power to shift conversations in ways local leaders often can’t. With that comes responsibility.
My hope is that moments like this don’t divide us—but bring us to more tables, with more clarity, to fight for the progress our people deserve. Accountability is not an attack.
If you’re from the south and you agree, comment your city.
