Yesterday, a 1st grader was brought to my office for being defiant. After asking her about her life (family, pets, hobbies, etc), I challenged her to do the right thing with urgency. Today, her teacher said, “I don’t know WHAT you did, but it worked!” The power of conversation.

Middle school is not the minor league of teachers, nor is high school the major leagues.
