Heterogeneous simulation (different mesh per world) is now fully supported in mjlab. If you were hesitant about using mjlab for manipulation, now is a great time to switch over 🙂 mujocolab.github.io/mjlab/main/sou…

Gave my PhD dissertation talk on Friday! It's been an incredible journey made possible by the best advisor who believed in me and gave me the freedom and support to explore. Thank you @pabbeel! And thank you to everyone who came to support and share this milestone with me 🙏

SOMEONE JUST BUILT A FULL GAME IN LESS THAN A DAY AND THE TOOLS THEY USED ARE INSANE what used to take an entire studio now takes one person and two tools GPT Image 2 + Seedance 2.0 just changed the math on game development forever

It’s been a massive week for embodied AI foundation models: the pace of this field is truly staggering. Throwing it back to the SimToolReal work by @kushalk_ and @tylerlum23 (Cornell & Stanford labs). In February, they achieved zero-shot tool manipulation across 24 tasks using a single RL policy and a robotic arm fitted with the SharpaWave hand. Watching the robot nail these high-speed in-hand rotations is incredible. The precision is especially impressive when you consider the policy was never trained on these specific objects or tasks. This is what solving the manipulation bottleneck looks like. ⚡️

It’s 2026, Robotics software isn’t that hard. I’m gonna prove it. Starting tomorrow I’m doing a 40-day challenge. 3 hours a day, going from total basics all the way to simulation, real robots, VLAs, and world models. I’ll be sharing every win, every screw up, and every project publicly so I actually stick to it. If you wanna do it with me, comment “ROBOTICS” and I’ll send you the curriculum + Discord link.

VLA/VAs are doing well on short skills like pick-and-place. But real tasks rarely stop after one action, they require 1) many interdependent steps, 2) progress tracking, and 3) recovery from mistakes. In our paper LoHo-Manip, we address long-horizon manipulation with trace-conditioned VLA planning: a task manager tracks what’s done, plans what remains, and guides execution with visual traces.

There’s an accountability group cause it’s fun doing it together. Comment “ROBOTICS” and I’ll DM you the full curriculum, resources, and Discord. We kick off Monday morning. Let’s actually build some robots instead of just watching videos about them 🤖

Why I’m doing this publicly: Most people think robotics is either too academic or way too hard for normal devs. I don’t think that’s true anymore, especially in 2026. I want to show that if you already know how to code, you can actually get pretty far pretty fast.

@boringsage This is why I’m doing the 40-day challenge, bridging academic robotics to what companies actually want (Optimus, Figure, etc.). Your focus on humanoids is spot on.

Robotics students are facing a serious challenge. There are 1000s of jobs in robotics. But most require deep professional expertise. Expertise that goes far beyond theory & academic projects. As a result, many students are struggling to land jobs. We are hear to address this problem head-on. Having served over 80,000 students from 150 countries, we are excited to announce the launch of our book and course on Applied Robotics. They are designed to bring deep professional expertise to those that don't have it first hand. Expertise that companies demand — and the ones that will set you apart in the interviews and at your job. You’ll learn: ✅ Core principles of robotics ✅ Building blocks of humanoids ✅ Tesla’s approach to building Optimus ✅ 1X's approach to building the Neo Humanoid ✅ Figure AI's approach to building humanoids ✅ NASA's approach to building the Mars Rover ✅ Boston Dynamics’ approach to building Spot 👉 Link in the comments. #humanoid
