Especially anxious to see how this plays out in sports like women’s basketball, where genetic gender testing isn’t done If they are truly going to do genetic testing on every female athlete, guaranteed there will be unexpected positives that will have a major life impact in the athlete who may have had no idea.

I don't know if the trans community understands, but I think if the Harry Potter HBO reboot tanks and doesn't get a second season, JK Rowling will still be super rich, powerful, and influential. I don't know much about the logistics, but I'd assume that whether it does well or not, they'd have to pay her for the licensing and potentially royalties, plus whatever merch is made from the show, plus the people who buy other Harry Potter media—whether because they love it so much they want to read or reread it, or because they hate it so much they want to reread or rewatch the originals.
