I have family and close friends that have experienced it up close and personal. Specifically in the vaccine technology field. Do you dispute my claim? My first exposure to it, I remember 20 years ago buying pirated DVDs from China. IP theft by China has been going on probably as long as I've been alive. I expect it's a cultural difference between communist countries and western ones - they view IP as common property versus we absolutely do not.

@CedarPosts That may be true, but I'd suggest that's not a good enough reason to not do it. Trucking rates are already increasing and Americans will either return to trucking or a lot of new truckers will enter the market.

The trucking industry is a mess. The idea that if we deport all the illegal immigrant truckers everything will be fine is stunningly ignorant. This didn’t happen overnight and to undo the damage is going to be insanely costly and a missive driver shortage will occur and shutting down fraudulent operators is going to be crazy painful.

BREAKING: A MAJOR semi truck crash just happened in Bunker Hill, Indiana. The semi was reportedly stopped and blocked multiple highway lanes, causing a red pickup to slam into its rear. The driver is wearing a turban.

@BrianBalfourNC @historicity this is exactly what I was expecting last night. Administrators, who do what exactly?, sucking up all the funding that should go more directly into classrooms.

@stephenehorn Got it. Not surprising the data isn't very good. The sheriff here in Meck Co can barely keep their arrests website online, forget having the correct demographic, arrest or bail information for a current or former resident of our jail.

Unfortunately, the eCourts system is designed to be difficult to scrape The data displayed here is from the NC Department of Adult Corrections, which is is available for download in an easily parseable format The offenses listed are definitely an undercount of actual crimes committed, as the example of DeCarlos Brown shows, but I'm not aware of any superior data source

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on a website where you will be able to search through and generate a shareable graphic of the government data on each of the 4,234 offenders which Gov. Roy Cooper released early What do y'all think of the design? (It's not my forte)

Results for the school districts' children... Testing results specifically... I'm happy CMS funding pays your salary and feeds your kids, but I'd be willing to bet your comp hasn't gone up by 50%. So presumably the money was spent on something other than just giving teachers raises. But maybe I'm wrong. I'd be willing to bet a good chunk was spent on stuff like digital devices in the classroom, which plenty of data now suggests does not improve educational outcomes. Said simply, I have very little faith in either the CMS board or CMS leadership to be good stewards of the tax dollars we fund them with.

@thayermoeller @BrianBalfourNC Results for whom? Which results? It pays my salary so I can feed my children and I do good work with my students. Overall? The NC education system is in much the same boat as the rest of the US.

I strongly recommend everyone watch this sobering reflection from @BenSasse, who faces a terminal cancer diagnosis. This is what it means to "die well." Truly inspiring.

What a disaster that DC is more than 2x the next closest US state. We need to force all the federal funding that flows through northern VA - DC out to the states. Good first step would be moving as many federal agencies as possible out of DC and to strangle the vast majority of NGOs to death.

Since @nosferoctopus blocked me I'm going to reply here. We can obviously agree to disagree. Hopefully you've spent a lot of time watching his videos and aren't just echoing what you've heard from TV commentators. @hwinkler4real was regurgitating the same nonsense that was amplified by the corporate media, and anyone that watched the full clip where that comment was made would understand the point Charlie was making (i.e. that DEI is actually a disservice to qualified minority workers because it makes people inherently question their qualifications when they are in a position of high trust where lives depend on their ability to perform their core job functions).

@Nosferoctopus @hwinkler4real I generally don't make it a practice to question the sincerity of other peoples' faith. Do you question the faith of everyone simply because they made a lot of money? Or is that something you reserve just for people you disagree with politically?

A troll because he invited kids to debate him? And those kids often weren't able to do so because their entire political worldview was nothing deeper than MSNBC and TikTok soundbites? Religious extremist is maybe something I'd agree with - but I'd view Christians with that label as something we need more of in this world given all the immorality in our society, especially in our government.

@thayermoeller @hwinkler4real Kirk was a troll, a Ben Shapiro knockoff who debated college freshman. He was a religious extremist and could dehumanize people with a smile on his tiny face

Makes you really wonder, who actually controls congress? If the party leadership is blackmailing congressmen and women, it stands to reason a few of the more ruthless democrats actually control substantially more than their 1 vote.
Cernovich@Cernovich

Eric Swalwell is illustrative of modern blackmail politics. He was being recorded with hookers. Obviously everyone knew. He goes along with the program, and is fine. Once he departs, then the walls come tumbling down. You think he's the only Congress member compromised. No way.

🚨Y’all Need to See This🚨 Davy Spencer has been arrested for the stabbing of 21-year-old Marine Daniel Montano in Wilmington. Montano did not survive the attack. What WECT fails to tell the public in their article is that Spencer was a habitual felon. His criminal record stretches back to 1995 and includes: 👉🏼B&E 👉🏼Larceny 👉🏼Multiple charges of Assault on a Female 👉🏼Drug Trafficking and other drug related offenses 👉🏼Various types of driving violations 👉🏼Resisting arrest and assaulting officers For decades, Spencer has terrorized New Hanover County. Police officers, magistrates, and judges have known that he was a danger to society. So why was he walking the streets? Hard truth? The whole idea of second chances has led to 10th, 11th, and 12th chances. And it’s the reason innocent people in North Carolina are being slaughtered. What are our elected officials doing about it?

For the past decade, the center of the country "received freight", largely from the coasts, as a large percentage of trucking volume were related to imports. For the past few months, that has flipped and now the center of the country has shifted from "receiving freight" to "pumping it." The US economy goods is flipping. The center of the country, the industrial heartland, is shifting to a primary source of domestic freight.
