Big personal update. My role @stripe is evolving, and I couldn't be more excited. 💜 Most of my career, I’ve been focused on helping founders get paid on the internet. Now I’m shifting to what happens after. I’m leading Financial Accounts at Stripe, and I'll be focused on how businesses store, move, and spend money. Imagine being able to spend your Stripe balance immediately. No waiting a week for your funds to arrive in your bank account. It just works the way you'd expect money to work. Still early, with plenty to build. Exactly the kind of problem I love.

I was on a call with a guy who builds AI operating systems for his consulting business. Skills, agents, cron jobs, the whole setup. I asked what he's focused on next. "I have to have a strategy to know what are my projects and how to deal with my contacts because my leverage really is using my network." Not better prompts. Not more automation. His network. "Everyone will have AI tools to make software. SaaS is really dead in the long term. Differentiator is who do you know, who trusts you." He's not using AI to produce more. He's using AI to think more clearly about who he knows and what they need. Most people building with AI are optimizing the wrong layer. Racing to get better at the tools. But the tools are about to be everywhere. What they won't have is your relationships. The fact that a specific person trusts you enough to send you work without asking for a proposal. The best use of AI is not producing more output. It's being strategic about the relationships that actually generate your pipeline.

Say Claude builds a website code for you. Where would be the best place to host it? Minimal technical expertise and being able to connect it with payment providers etc?

Codex is like a senior/architect engineer in their 40s who takes time to build something properly. Claude Code is like a senior engineer in their mid-20s, working for an SF startup, who's running on Red Bulls or occasionally cocaine and doesn't sleep much.
