@theJayMenez Thanks, Jay! Yeah I want to empower more people to get out of bad situations, rather than trying to be cheerful about the horrible things done to them.

It bothers me how we train people to "change their mindset" and "learn to be content" with their situation. For years, I fell for this belief. So I would force myself to endure horrible school environments, workplaces, and even toxic relationships. But now, I learned that I have the power to change my environment. I don't have to "suck it up." I can leave people and workplaces that are causing me harm. As a psychotherapist, I had depressed clients who started off in dead-end jobs with abusive employers. But later, they got themselves out, and found a much better job with fairer employers. And like magic, their depression lifted!
